well, Ford's name is now ok She's a HE....5 months, and testicles starting to show, although small. I never really looked, but he's laying on his back in my lap....although I have been calling him "mew".....he has this little tiny squeaky "mew", not a meow. At 5 months still sounds like a baby kitten when he mews.....yet purrs like diesel engine....will he ever meow?
he's a grey/orange tabby mix. I never had one of those before. My last two cats were real vocalists, but both have/had Siamese in them...

well, at least the "snip" will be cheaper than the spay...

LOL!!!

For future reference (in case Kyle brings home another kitten, ya know ;) ) They're pretty easy to tell apart. Not as easy as dogs, but still... There are two holes. Girls will have them very close together, and boys will have them farther apart, with the bottome one maybe starting to slant under.

The stray kittens we brought in were 4 weeks old when we first found them, and there were 3 boys and a girl. Sadly, the only girl died, prompting us to bring the other three in :(

I looovve 5 mon th old kittens. I think it's a lovely age... they're getting big, but not too big, and are still sweet, playful kittens. And they still have their baby meows ;) He should develop a regular meow, but they do vary. Some are gravelly, other high pitched, and everything in between. Of course, Siamese don't actually meow usually, or mine never have. Cry and scream, but never meow ;)

I have to laugh at that. My two cats with siamese in them dont really meow, or mew. they YOWL....PAY ATTENTION TO ME NOW!! seems to be the directive....

I never checked Ford. I had this same issue with Isis, because I never really looked. sex doesnt matter to me, I guess thats why. I would not choose a pet because of that. the other two cats took up 27 years of my life, so I guess I'm not used to anything but the Siamese YOWL....

My best friend had a kitten for several months thinking it was a girl, until I was playing with "her" and had her on her back, tummy exposed when I said "Um, April, are you sure this kitten is a girl?" "Yeah" "So, what is she doing with TESTICLES?!"

That was heelarious!

ROFL!!!!!

yea, thats pretty much the same thing. I dont pick them up and turn them over, most of them dont like that and why push it? If I had to, for a medical or injury reason or whatever, I would. But most animals dont like to be "placed" on their backs against their will. It's a very submissive position and makes them somewhat uncomfortable. So I'm sitting here, typing and he crawls in my lap. I pet him. he purrs (like a diesel engine) and then rolls over and exposes his belly. He hast done that in at least a month and a half. I see "boy parts". I think he needs to be snipped soon. he is looking for "that" kind of attention. I crack up, and tell Kyle. He is flabbergasted. He didnt realize either. We just assumed (always a bad thing) and never tried todetermine otherwise. So we'reall laughing about it now. I told Kyle I now accept his name. I didnt care for it for a girl....

We had that happen to us when we bought a rabbit from a petstore many years ago. This was before I found out the people in petstores don't know anymore then the average pet owner. But we asked for a female simply because we were told males would mark the walls. Then a few months later we turned him over to check and see if he had poop smeared on his bottom and we found out our girl was a boy. And just for the record he never once sprayed the walls.
