eric Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Or, "People with too much time on their hands". Cripes, we have purposely always given our dogs people names. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/10/28/dog.names.ap/index.html Quote

BuddysMom Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 This seems like an attempt to reinforce one of the darker sides of Christianity, in my opinion ... that which says humans are to have dominion over animals and that animals have no soul and can not go to heaven. Quote
izzy Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 A law for that? That's what happen when you spend all your life playing a dumb sport like soccer... Quote

I was thinking the same thing Desert....I have known alot of children in my years, and I honestly cant think of one ever being depressed over knowing a dog had the same name. Hell, lots of KIDS have the same names. So is it then depressing that some kid you dont like has the same name as you? If getting upset over knowing a dog has the same name as you, I would suggest that child is already somewhat unbalanced. It's not the dogs fault... Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Okay....so if we stop giving our dogs 'people' names....then stop naming your kids: Apple Coco GOT IT?? Quote

No I think this is a case of people who are too into psychobabble and should just tell people to get over it. Christianity hasn't a thing to do with it. Beside we do have dominion over animals they certainly don't control us. You don't have control over your dog. Quote

I totally respect your disagreeing opinion but either that last line was meant to be the other way around, or there should have been a question mark after it, or it was an insult. Just curious which. Of course I have control over my dog! Quote
Cairn6 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Sorry I meant to have a question mark there. And no that wasn't meant to be an insult. Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 I knew that ... just wanted to make sure, thanks. Quote
