ObedienceGrrl Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Okay....so it looks like the woman who was supposed to do our home visit is having all sorts of personal issues. She hasn't been in contact with anyone due to this. So.....it appears that they will be going outside of the rescue group for the home visit. There is an all breed rescue by me and I think someone from there will do it. Also, I told them that the people from Doberman rescue seem sweet, too. So who knows!! But....we are still patiently waiting......and waiting!!! Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted October 28, 2004 Author Posted October 28, 2004 I think it is just this woman. There is no one close to me to do a home visit. Tater is in Indiana, along with the head of our region. Everyone is so understanding.....but no on knows what to do!! She just has a lot of personal issues right now....but you would think that if she knew she had them, then she wouldn't have offered her services. She became a part of Crest-Care 1 week before I found Tater. Who knows......The regional coordinator keeps saying how badly she feels that Tater hasn't gotten to his forever home yet but there is just no one around us!! So hopefully some other orginations will step forward and help me out! Quote
Mutt_Lady Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 The adoption process taking so long must be a real downer on you. I'm sorry to hear that they can't seem to get their act together. Or just that one woman I guess is the source of the problem. Like Divine said, I'm sure after it gets going...it'll go very quickly. Good luck on your home visit when it finally comes! ;) Quote
JackieMaya Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Believe me, I know the feeling! It was over a month after I submitted my application before I got my home visit last Sunday. She said that I should hear within 2-3 days (haven't heard anything yet). On their website they said it can take up to 2 weeks before you hear anything! All of the older dogs on the Golden Retriever rescue site have been there for so long. The two 8 year-old boys I'm interested in have been there since July! And here they have someone wanting to adopt an older dog. At least they're all in foster homes and not in a kennel. It's frustrating. Good luck! Quote
