courtnek Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 So Laurel is standing here looking forlorn and lost. I look under the desk, her bone is gone. Figuring freebee stole it (AGAIN!!) I leave my dinner and go out into the living room to retrieve it. It's not there. I come back, and there's Laurel, EATING MY DINNER!!! :o :o   Quote

Rusty&Chip Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004  Too funny! That reminds me of something Chip did. We had a loaf of spice bread on the counter. Chip knocked something over in the living room so we all ran in there and when we got back he had pushed a stool up to the counter and was eating all the bread. It's amazing what they can do when they really want something... courtnek Posted October 26, 2004 Author Posted October 26, 2004 y'know, they say that dogs only accomplish the intelligence level of a three year old. I could argue that point, with both of these.... A three year old wouldnt know to distract mom so they could eat her dinner... a three year old wouldnt know that getting up at 3:00 am and waking mom would let her let you out, so you wont go in the house, only to be skunked... A three year old wouldnt know that excessive barking and growling would let mom let them out, to find the problem....and it turns out to be a possum....while mom is standing there with the cell phone ready to call the police.... grrrr.....      Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Ooooh, now I remember something that happened to my Dad many years ago on a very cold Michigan night ... He went to pick up a pizza and brought our 2 year old Golden mix in the car, decided to leave the car running for Beige to stay warm, picked up the pizza, set it in the car and decided to run back and get some cokes ... came back to discover he'd LOCKED the car (with it running) and Beige was eating the pizza, all toasty warm inside, while Dad was freezing and yelling NO! NO! to no avail. The locksmith came, another pizza was gotten for the humans and amazingly Beige didn't get sick (although she always was a chunky gal after that). Quote
Cairn6 Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 They can be stinkers. One of my dogs the cairn terrier is a perfect gentlemen at all times. I can leave my food right in front of his face and say "mine" before I leave he doesn't touch it. I let him sit at the table sometimes because he wouldn't ever touch a thing. But the other two forget it. My so called Sheltie who weighs almost 40lbs now and is tall enough to get to table level has stolen so many things. Were on guard for a long time then we get forgetful just once and something is gone. Tonight it was a piece of Angel food cake on the counter. Mandy our border terrier mix is too short, thank God, to steal much but she tries. Quote
imported_Kat Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 lol dogs and abandoned food are a definite mismatch! At Meg's first show she had done really well and I was talking to someone who was telling me how good she was in the ring. I felt a tug on the lead and an "oi" and my angel dog had started to tuck into the cream cakes on the refreshments stand  She had obviously thought she was very good as well! Quote
