AllAmericanPUP Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 This lil guy wandered up to our yard at about 5PM tonight. Looks like a shar-pei mix I put him in the back tonight and he will have to go to the shelter tomorrow morning before I go to school. i am sure someone is lookin for him. he is neutered, and he has very nice clean teeth and is well fed. doesnt look like he has been on the street for more than a day... If nobody is lookin for him then I am sure someone will adopt him.. He is extremely sweet Quote
imported_Debbie Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 He's a real looker  !!! And I would definitely agree with the Sharpei X. What a good person you are !! Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 What a beauty! Someone is looking for him ... you saved his life and probably his owners' broken hearts. Most people would have ignored him. Quote
courtnek Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 did you call the police and/or animal control? around here, most people call the police when they lose a dog, and it gets turned over to AC to investigate. The owners may be looking for him now. Also, check with the vet. Lots of times people call the vet when their pets are lost. I was able to return a lost yellow lab to her owners by calling the police. She hadnt been reported yet, but I gave them my number and 20 minutes later they called back and said the dog had been reported lost. The owner came by to get her. Its worth a shot... thank you for taking her in. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted October 21, 2004 Author Posted October 21, 2004 I never thought about calling the police.. I couldn't call the AC or vets cause they were closed by the time I found the lil guy... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 super cute he's got the color of fur that the Weim;s have Quote
courtnek Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 definitely call the police. here, AC turns their pet cases over to the PD when they close, in case someone calls. Its not like that everywhere, but its still worth a shot. 8) Quote
DogPaddle Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 super cute he's got the color of fur that the Weim;s have Maybe my monitor is displaying colours incorrectly but she looks more sandy beige than grey to me. But there is a sortof soft muted colouring that is similar to Weims. In any case it is a beautiful colouring - I love it. Quote
Queen Bitch Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 :o Wow! He is absolutely gorgeous! You know, you already have a lot of dogs... what's one more if his people can't be found? Quote
bk_blue Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Ooooh, lovely. He does have Weim colouring. I'd take him in a second! :D Quote
DogPaddle Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Ooooh, lovely. He does have Weim colouring. I'd take him in a second! Well I guess that prooves it - my monitor is messed up - that dog looks so brown/tan on mine - I wonder how long its been messed and what colour all your dogs really are. Quote
bk_blue Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 LOL DP, he has a silvery beige/grey coat. Very, very similar to a light coloured Weim. Absolutely beautiful colour! My dog is definitely black and white so that should post no problems for you  Quote
imported_Kat Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Wow he certainly is very unusual! Looks like a shar pei x Weimaraner to me  I hope he finds his family. Quote
imported_Kat Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Malamum right click and copy the url from the properties then paste into a new window  Quote
izzy Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Wow, he's so unique, he'll be found soon by his owner, it was great that you found him. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted October 21, 2004 Author Posted October 21, 2004 I took him to the shelter this morning. I would have loved to keep him here until I found his owners or a new home, but I have absolutely nowhere to keep him. It's hard enough keeping Eli seperated from barkley and the cats, and giving them all equal loving and free roaming time. :( Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 That's great, the shelter is the best place really! I think his owners will be looking for him there ... if not he is sure to be adopted in a second! They will know what to do. Please keep us posted if you hear? I think many (myself included) have fallen in love with this guy just from the pics! Quote
