Yoladybug Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Last night I came home from a John Edwards rally (yay!)...the house was dark and no one was home. My dog was at my boyfriend's house playing. I turned on the lights and what do I see? A HUGE rat run across the living room. He scurried under my couch. I screamed and ran outside. Needless to say, I slept elsewhere last night (I'm a bit of a wimp). Anyway, I rent this house, so I called the landlord, and he came over to put out pellets that will poisen the rats. Obviously, I'm now worried about my dog. He was very careful to hide them way back in closets and under furniture, so I'm hoping that's okay. Does anyone know of anything that wouldn't hurt my dog that would get rid of the rats? Quote
rotten_two Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 how bout a cat? haha i guess that could hurt the dog too tho! we had a little field mouse once and the dogs went nuts trying to get at it! looked like a cartoon they were uprooting rugs and furniture! Quote
73junebugz Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Ew, don't blame you for being freaked out...or worried about the poison. I won't have any of that in my house, because if it's there, it seems to be too much of a risk. What about those box type bait traps? The ones where no paws or muzzles can get in? Quote
courtnek Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I agree with DO. A large mousetrap, or even a cat trap baited would suit you better than poison. I'm very leery about it. Quote
