You've got a built in companion, someone who's game for a new adventure, and excited just to be out there enjoying the world. And if the chips are ever down? Your four-legged friend will be there to comfort you. And while it might initially seem strange that he thinks asking you to scratch his rump would make you feel better — strangely enough, it kind of does, doesn't it? An Explorer of course, ready to set sail for all parts of your house and home. The coat closet, the food pantry, even the corner of the living room where nothing has ever happened before are exciting to your precocious puppy. Sure, he might get into trouble from time-to-time, like if he sniffs the wrong rump, or gets too close to the sprinkler before it suddenly turns on, but his quest for new experiences is insatiable. And he'll keep you busy as he takes you along for the ride. When it comes right down to it, your puppy just likes to have fun, and wants to share all his great discoveries with you. Before he came along, who knew how fun a tennis ball or a common stick could be? Whether setting out for far off lands around the neighborhood, or examining every tree, bush, and briar in your backyard, your puppy has a thirst for knowledge. Even if he doesn't retain all of it. mouseatthebusstop Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 your puppy's a Comedian Your puppy's a people-pleaser whether he means to slide across the linoleum floor into his water dish or not. His animated antics might have been accidental at first, but it wouldn't surprise us if he does things on purpose now, just to hear you laugh. He just loves to keep you happy, and if playing the funny man works, then he'll do what he can to lighten the mood around your home. He may not be the quickest to pick up on commands — but he's so full of personality, you might not be able to tell if that's just part of his shtick. It's the way he goes after things whole-heartedly that's so endearing — especially when he leaps before he looks. Some may call him clumsy, others may call him eager. But at the heart of it all is a truly funny friend with a good heart, and an even better sense of humor. They say that laughter makes the world go around.
