boosiebutt Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 I picked Pixie up yesterday. What a cute little fluffball! She and Peanut were doing alright on the car right home, sniffing each other out, then when we got home, Peanut started dive bombing her. Kind of running at her, and trying to get a bite in on her ears. She's not having any of that, and she growls and barks at him when he tries. For now, I've been trying to grab Peanut and tell him "No bite!" Any other suggestions on how to get these two to be buddies? Quote
courtnek Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 possibly Peanut is feeling territorial. The car he might consider "neutral ground', but now you brought this animal into "his" house....The dust should settle in a few days. They will sort it out themselves, but if it's too tense here in the beginning, I would seperate them with a baby gate. Let them get used to each other (The can commune thru the gate) without being able to touch each other. That way neither one feels threatened or powerful. Its a little inconvenient at first, but I have found it the best way to introduce pets to each other. Quote
imported_Kat Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Introductions where you are always in control and no favourtism towards one or the other. Be firm from the start and they will accept each other. Quote
