courtnek Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 I took her to Petco to get her nails clipped. She was AWESOME!!! she was real nice for the groomer guy, and walked around the store and sniffed other dogs and checked out the bones and stuff. Tail was down, but not between her legs. She seems to be getting more socailized. I will make a point of taking her there a few times a month, just to let her walk around, and leave my debit card at home so I dont BUY anything!!    Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Glad you had such a good experience with Laurel! I always take Buddy in Petco and don't buy anything (it's right next to my natural food store). They don't seem to mind! Last time a little girl sat down on the floor with buddy and hugged him while he gave her a face bath ... The girl's mom didn't mind luckily 8) Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 we take ours in when we know we are going to buy food ect they all love it Quote
imported_Kat Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Pet stores that allow dogs are a great place to socialise them. When Meg was a pup I took her absolutely everywhere so she would get used to all sorts of sounds. I actually used to practice my heelwork on the platform of the train station  Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Oh yeah, I was thrilled to discover this too ... the hardware stores and sporting goods stores don't usually mind you taking dogs in either. I see them in Home Depot pretty often. I used to take my girl but haven't taken Buddy yet. He got excited and lifted his leg onece in Petco but that was after playing sniffy-butt with two female Golden mixes. Quote
courtnek Posted October 11, 2004 Author Posted October 11, 2004 the home depots here dont allow it..... :( :( :( I guess its up to the individual store managers whether to allow pets or not. For some reason, around here its a big no-no..... Quote
