Guest Mutts4Me Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 I was at Borders the other day getting Stephen Lynch's new DVD (anyone like him?) and saw this DVD... Except the price sticker was right over the dog's head :-? I looked on the back and saw a slightly grainy picture of a dog, and it looked rather pit bull-ish. I've since done my research and discovered that Jock was actually a Staffy (but still in the pit bull category by anyone who doesn't like them). Has anyone seen or read it? I'm thinking about getting it now, lol. It's based on a true story, but I've never heard of it being reccomended to skeptics as evidence of what a true bull-and-terrier is. I read that there were three versions of this movie, from 1986, 1992, and 2001, but IMDB only has a listing for one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104563/ Quote
kendalyn Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 I've never heard of it. Looks interesting though :-) Quote
Cairn6 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 It looks like a good story. But on a side note, not counting this is movie because it's a true story but why is it most the dog stories are about a boy and his dog. My niece is in love with stories about dogs and it would be nice if once and awhile the story could be about a girl and her dog. Everytime there is a girl in those movies she always has a cat. :-? Yeah, a cat or a horse ;) I had the same "problem," but I don't know that it ever bothered me. I grew up watching b/w reruns of Lassie on Nickelodeon, and I loved Timmy and Lassie. Most of my books featured a boy and a dog, too. (or a girl and a horse). I think the movie "Lad, a Dog" focused a lot on Lad's relationship with a girl, who he saved from a snake (The books are filled with multiple stories, though). I also really enjoyed the Babysitter's Club because one of the main characters had a Collie that was mentioned a lot. I do think we should start a "girl and her dog" petition to send to all the big movie makers, though ;) Quote
