Guest Anonymous Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 i do have toe clippers he is potty trained.. and i'm afraid a kong is to much for his little teeth righ tnow since he just got them removed this week What do you t hink> Quote
rotten_two Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 i somehow overlooked the 12 tooth extraction bit! :o yikes! they do have puppy kongs that are supposedly softer but i would only try that after his mouth has healed. ok so did you get doggie toothpaste and a finger brush? sounds like he has some dental problems so need to brush those teefers! imported_nea Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 You mentioned a food bowl- but what about a water bowl? A collar? Or are you just going to use a harness for him? It must be so exciting getting things for your new dog! :D Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Here is the house/carrier i got for Boonie.. it's small and i want to take it back but i think he "might" fit in to it. what do you all think?? ( another plus is it's been approved to flyl on planes.. and he will be goign to phx iwth me at xmas and i dont know that the pettaxi's are ok to fly with ) http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302025737&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441779547&bmUID=1096582302805 Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 lol answered my own question.. i started thinking.. hmm.. there's no handle on this.. how would i move it around if i were traveling? it's more like a home for him to sleep in at home and things.. so it's going back lolit's super cute but not practical for what i need.. *sigh* edited to add.. ok cuse wait.. i'm right ont his right> it says it's approved for airline use. so can i carry boonie until we get there and then put him in it? oh i need to be practical.. at the kennel cabs airline approved? http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441775460&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032902&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1096582929774 runs to the air line website Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Well....I'm assuming that he'll fly with you as carry on, right? If so, then you need a soft sided Sherpa, or Samsonite bag. Kinda pricy....but worth it for travel! The vari-kennels and the like are not approved for carry on. But if you were planning on checking him with luggage, then THAT is what you want! It's tough to travel with a dog. The vet restrictions are crazy! At least out by me they are. Each state seems to be different. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 saturday yet? he willb e flying with me as carryon... i will keep the thing i have for him, it's approved and i'll just put it on top of my roller suitcase while i go through the airport.. and American airlines only requires a rabies certif.... nothing else Quote
courtnek Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 is it Saturday yet????     he's a cutie. I liked the shaved look myself... 8) Quote
Horsefeathers! Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Oh, DAL, I can feel your excitement. You need about 7 more dogs, so you can get excited shopping in the dollar store. :P decorative ceramic dog dishes with pawprint designs: $1 or stainless steel dishes: $1 plushy squeaky toys: $1 decorative collars and leashes with pawprint designs: $1 each I'm a regular killjoy, I know. I'm glad you're excited and having so much fun. I stopped being able to afford to shop at PetsMart a long time ago. All I could think of when I read your list of things was "ack, all that money!!" :P Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 :D decorative ceramic dog dishes with pawprint designs: $1 or stainless steel dishes: $1 plushy squeaky toys: $1 decorative collars and leashes with pawprint designs: $1 each Ohhh HF this could be like one of those Mastercard commercials ... the punchline, "Ten dogs giving you slobbery kisses ... priceless." I love the dollar store, my latest thing is these great sunglasses they have (and at $1 each I could afford three!) Quote

BuddysMom Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 In my experience with Petsmart they are VERY good about returns and exchanges. That's so important ... if a retailer ever gives me a hard time about a return I will not step through their doors again. Quote
Mutt_Lady Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 I'm so happy for you, Naomi. I know that you had your heart set on a little furry wagger that you could keep in your purse and there he is. And what a doll. :) I can't believe you got Justin to agree. Kevin is so stubborn and now I'm mad at him. How come J is so easily convinced and Kevin is so set in his ways? Your so lucky, my guy won't cave on the SECOND dog idea, nevermind third. Boo-hoo! I want my second dog. Convince him for me! How old is "Boonie"? I personally love the name. Not only because the guy is a cutie (just like the dog), but also because it's related to sports...which I adore. I have seriously been considering naming my next male dog "Beckham". I think some one who came here had that name for their dog and now I'm gonna snag it away from them. I love naming dogs, it's so much fun! I sure hope I don't have a baby and wind up calling it "Belfour". :o That poor, poor boy. He would be the talk of the town! Plus with Kevin's last name that would be HILARIOUS!! Naw, I'll stick to naming dogs for now...until I have a baby, that is. How are your baby conceiving attempts, anyway? You haven't mentioned them a lot lately. I know you two went for a romantic weekend together and I was wondering if there were sparks flyin'. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Boonie is 5-6 y ears old ;) Justin told me yesterday he's upset he only has a short time to spend with Boonie, and if he is super cute he's takign to Iraq with him! no luck in the baby department. th at's okd cuse now i have 3 kids. no room for another one! LOL maybe when he gets back. Quote
