What's with oatmeal shampoo in the stores? I went to the pet store to get K some shampoo for a bath and all they had was Oatmeal shampoo (or so it seemed like). It was EVERYWHERE. Anyone wanna tell me why oatmeal shampoo is so good for dogs these days?

I have also heard of people using nylon socks, putting oats in them and soaking them in water. Then they rub the dog with the sock, the oatmeal juice is supposed to help itchy skin.

zebra had realy dry itchy skin when we first got him so the vet suggested oatmean shampoo. His skin isn't dry and his coat is brighter. Seems to have worked for him. :D

Oatmeal shampoo helps with our dog who is very allergy prone. She gets dry, flaky, dandruffy and itchy skin - it was really awful watching her scratch away. :( Used together with oral supplements (Omegas 3 & 6), the oatmeal really seems to help sooth her skin. :)
