Guest Anonymous Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 do you have ag reat? you need to teach the dog Bite inhibition.. let me see if i can find an article on it.. the dog should know not to bite hard enought to break the skin, heck not to bite at all.. if i put my finger in my dogs mouth. they s pit it back out at me lol Quote
MajiesMom Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 The way I dealt with play bitting was I would give Magic a rope toy or something to bite on instead of me. She was very mouthy and I would say "NO" and give her something she was allowed to bite up. I think if I tried bite inhibitation on Magic (I think thats like yelping when they bite you? I have to read up on that again) she would laugh in my face. Quote
hounddogdaddy Posted August 6, 2004 Author Posted August 6, 2004 see i try the yeeping like a puppy when he bits me he keeps on doing it thought... Quote
rotten_two Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 well when you do the yelp you are then supposed to walk away and ignore the pup for a couple minutes. this way he associates bites = good things come to an end. then in a couple minutes you can try to resume interaction. if he does it again repeat the process. try not to let him keep biting you.
