boosiebutt Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 Hi! I am moving into a brand new condo, with brand new carpet, and as I've been moving stuff in, I've noticed 5 or 6 dead houseflies on the carpet. Since I'm finally in a place where I can have a dog, I ran right out and bought a puppy that will be coming home with me next weekend, after all the moving is done, so the poor guy (a yorkie) won't be too stressed. So, my question is, cab teeny puppies and new carpets coexist? I don't want to gas out Peanut. Does anybody know what I should do? Maybe steam clean, or just run a fan with all the windows open to get some fresh air in? Thanks so much for any help you can give me! Heather Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 I am not sure I would not steam clean a new carpet- try going in a carpet shop and asking what they think Quote
imported_Kat Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 You should really avoid any sort of chemical around the puppy as you must bewar in mind that a Yorkie will have very tiny lungs and would need only a few inhalations of a noxious chemical to do damage. If you really need to clean the carpet keep the pup out of that particular room for a few days. Congrats with your new furbabe :fadein: Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 The smell will go away.. when we moved in to our house it was just remolded and new capet and it smelled horrible, but we just opend the windows and the doors and let it air out and then use glade plug-ins to give a fresh clean smell.. you can also try a simmering pot, i have one of those as well. i'm obbsessied with my house smelling nice and pretty..
