Aroura Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 For those who don't know, its Monties birthday on Monday so I've arranged for him to come to the coast to visit dad for the week of his birthday. Well we're here now, after the long 7 hour drive. We got here last night and when Montie first saw dad I think it took him a second to realise who he was since he hasn't seen him for so long, after that it was all dances and tail wags :D We took Montie for a walk along the beach, which is only a block away. Monties never seen the beach before, so he ran around in the sand, tail wagging... he seems to like it 8) Its the next day, I took Montie for another early morning walk along the beach, he's a bit more out going today and wanted to pee on everything! I was a bit worried last night because he wasn't peeing... I was worried he'd get back and do it in the house  We are on the top story of a really nice lot of flats, he's lying on the chair now with his "Lambie", sunbaking. We're going to take him to an off leash beach later, so he can really have a good run around in the sand. I think I'll buy him a hair dryer for his birthday, as if a trip to the coast isn't enough  His other one is getting a little old and needs replacing  I'll keep you all up to date on how Monties birthday holiday is going :bday: Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted July 17, 2004 Posted July 17, 2004 you do know we need photographic eviedence(sp) of this holiday/birthday Quote
Aroura Posted July 18, 2004 Author Posted July 18, 2004 Of course mouse, I've lost the usb for my digi... I was going to bring my camera up here with me seeing as dads computer actually works (the one at home wont upload the software so my camera is currently useless! :( ) but dad went and bought some film for his camera yesterday so I'm sure he'll scan the photos and email them to me when he gets it back :D Well yesterday after I posted we went for a walk to the shops. We found this little poultery place and I went in to get Monties dinner while dad waited outside with Montie in his arms. The guy in the shop asked if I needed help, I told him I was looking for some food for my dog. He said "Is that your dog out there? I know just the thing for him" and grabbed a bag of chicken necks and gave them to me for nothing! Thats what you get for having a cute dog  We have been going for lots of walks. I've yet to find an off leash dog beach, so as yet he has remained on lead. He's loving it though. I took him for a walk this morning at 7 o'clock and we got to the beach and he started zooming around in circles, kicking up the sand, it was so funny! Then we were walking over the rocks and he was jumping in all the puddles, then he jumped in a deed one that he could only just touch the ground, he got the funniest look on his face and just waded out and looked like a drowned rat! I got his birthday present yesterday, a $30 hair dryer. Its pretty snazzy, its a breville, I got a breville because I trust the brand. Its his birthday tomorrow so I'm going to buy a cake today maybe. We'll find a dog beach for his birthday and maybe have a little picnick at the beach. I'm sure he'll love it  Quote
Aroura Posted July 19, 2004 Author Posted July 19, 2004 After posting yesterday dad and I took Montie for about a 10km walk along the beach. We found an off leash dog beach, so Montie did laps in the sand and went rock hopping. He loved every second of it. By the time we got home I practically had to drag him up the stairs though, he was so exhausted. Its his birthday today!!! I think he wanted to sit on the beach and watch the sun rise for his birthday, he woke me up at 6am so I got out of bed and we walked to the beach and sat on a rock and watched the sun rise. On the way back we came across a lovely woman who fell in love with him. She said "oh, I have got just the thing for you!!!" and pulled a chicken out of her bag! :o Montie gobbled up some tasty bits of chicken that she gave him and then didn't want to say goodbye! Then we came home, went back to bed and slept in  I got him prawns for breakfast, he loved them - I got a little jealous though because they looked so good and I wanted one, but I only bought enough for him! We're going to the off leash dog beach to have a picnick at lunch time. I know he'll love that too. He's a very spoilt dog, he knows I love him  Quote
