Guest Anonymous Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 pLaurent napisaĆ(a):It's German, and I got kind of curious and found this: ""The International All-Breed Canine Association of America (IABCA) began approximately fifteen years ago with the intent of making an International "UCI" Championship Title available to the American public while not exposing the dogs to the danger and inconvenience of international travel. To accomplish this, an association was formed with an International Association of dog clubs headquartered in Germany, the Union Cynologie International (UCI). The UCI organization has been in existence for over 30 years. There are many countries, throughout Europe, North America and the Far East, represented in the association. Through UCI, International Titles are awarded to dogs who meet the requirements." "IABCA shows are held in accordance with the German regulations and guidelines that have been established by UCI. The guidelines provide for a WRITTEN CRITIQUE OF EACH DOG ENTERED and a rating number of how well the dog conforms to the International "UCI" breed standard. The rating a dog received, based on the critique, will determine the type of championship certificate, if any, is awarded in the class. Each dog will receive an "URKUNDE" (certificate of participation) with it's class placement noted. NOTE: The International "UCI" standards are based on the "country of origin" for each breed, if possible." Hi I'm new here in this discussion and i saw this, the thing is I'm from Iceland and I've been trying for some time now to find a e-mail adress or phone number with this club UCI because there is a women here in ICeland that was banned from FCI because she is running a puppymill in Iceland than she started her own club that is associatied with this UCI and she doesn't want to tell anyone how you can reach them. So i wanted to ask you have you heard anything about UCI and do you know how i can find out the number or anything to see if this is real club and if it supports puppy mills  . Bye Bye Missyelliot :D Quote
courtnek Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 SHORTAGE OF LITTLE DOGS??? WHAT??? like K said.....and I agree wholeheartedly...log onto Petfinder.com, just ONE rescue site available. they have little dogs for adoption OUT THE WAZOO....as well as big and medium sized dogs too. and contrary to popular belief, they arent all mixes or mess ups. Some of them are purebreds. little purebred dogs that "didnt fit in".... there are rescue societies for almost every purebred available. if there is shortage, why is there a need for rescue societies? if there was a shortage, I wouldnt have my Foxhound. If there was a shortage, there would be no need for rescue societies for every breed imaginable. where are you getting your stats? Quote
