Mutt_Lady Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Hello. Last night, Kyra was acting very strange again. Around 2 o'clock in the morning she began to whine and cry in her crate. I went to let her out, waited as she did her business, and then put her back in her crate. Between 3-4 this happened another two times. But I realized the second time that she was just doing it for attention. I put her back in her crate and went back to bed. She cried and yelped into about 5:30 a.m. It was awful. I felt so bad. :( But Kevin kept saying that, "if I kept letting her out it would encourage her to keep whining". Is this true? I don't know how to deal with this. Is it seperation anxiety or...? I'm clueless. A little help, please? A confused and deprived, eileen Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I have to agree with KEvin on this.. if she keeps whining and you let her out, then she will know that if she whines she's out of the crate.. if she seems to be in pain again maybe it's time to get her back to the vet and see what's going on.. maybe she needs stronger meds for her HD. but that's besdies the pooint. yup Kevin is right Quote
Mutt_Lady Posted July 7, 2004 Author Posted July 7, 2004 [quote name='DivineOblivion19']Sometimes they can have no symptoms but they will wake you up several times through the night, even if they don't have to pee. They just can't get comfy and can't sleep so they want you to entertain. I have been really thinking about this and I truly hope that this is the case. In fact, humans get this all the time when they can't sit still and can't sleep. So why couldn't dogs? K's never done this before so it's definitely been a one-time thing (so far). I guess I will not know for sure until later tonight...and by that I mean 3 a.m...or should I say tomorrow? ;) Quote
