Anyone know of a good way to get dog hairs off the sofa?

I have always used those sticky roller type things...the name of them just eludes me right now :lol: :wink:
They have sticky paper in a roll, you roll over hair infested surface. remove the used strip and then use the next strip...works great :wink:
perhaps some on here will have the proper name. I have gotten them at my local dollar store and they last for a couple of days. You could do your furniture with them.

I just live with the dog (and cat) hairs; they always come back stronger and more determined to stick to things if you try to get rid of them :lol:

I have found the cheaper solution is to take packing tape, wrap it backwards on your hand, and brush. it picks up the hairs very nicely.

make your dog use a chair or buy a Dyson Vacume Cleaner

Dampen a sponge, just so it's damp not dripping wet......
then wipe across dog hair/cat hair in one direction until you've got it in one pile and vacuum.
I too use the sticky tape rolling wand thingie.......name escapes me too !!
My Jacks hairs usually brush off pretty easily but my cat......his hair is evil :evilbat: !! It sticks and the damp sponge works fantastic !! :wink:

I do the same as Debbie except I use a towel or handcloth because sometimes the sponge leaves behind its pieces. It definately takes arm power to get my cats hair up! My vaccum isnt working too well lately and the cat hair is piling up! :o Its very scary!!!!

I'm Canadian, so I use duct tape. Wrap it around your hand and presto boom, it's gone. There's no problem in the world that duct tape can't solve. ;)

Yes, its very annoying! Its like you have to clean twice. Not fun! :x

... I once bought some kind of hair clean-up device from Petsmart and as soon as I used it it broke up into pieces all over the rug! :roll: I was mad but I kinda laughed at the fact that I paid $5 just to clean it all up. :lol:

Also, we sometimes use a rubber glove instead of a rag because then you dont have to deal with water.

Ill have to try the duct tape method. :lol: Although it seems like it would take up the carpet with it....

Roll tape, duct tape on your hand, wet towel, i've tried everything, and guess what?.. all of them works!!!..... yeah for the 5 seconds right before a dog or a cat come again to sleep, my couch looks as clean as new! :lol:

I just run the vacuum over mine. All this duct taping sounds like way too much effort.

hello all this is my first post! my wife read in a martha stewart magazine that if you wear kitchen cleaning gloves and dampen them a bit and just rub your hands over the cushions to move the hair to one spot then pick it up for there...it really works well.... :)

I don't let my dogs on the "good couch" but always seem to find Jake's hair all over it (it is dark green with dark blue and burgandy stripes and his hair is blond!!!) I'm going to try the glove trick because, I think it has a lot to do with static and I can see the rubber gloves working. Thanks :wink:

alternative method:
invite over some people who don't really like dogs (not that any of us KNOW such weird types...) and have them sit on the sofa.
Not only will their clothes attract all the hairs already on the sofa, your dogs will immediately leap onto their laps and roll around, depositing all the remaining loose hair on them.
