Soon I'm going to have to make the big introduction of Scuffy the Westie to Zeus & Apollo the GSD & Rottie. They've all smelled each other through the gate & X-pen, but I'm wondering how they'll react once their all togther for the first time. Scuffy has wuffed at them a few times, with no reaction from the big guys. So maybe if I do it one at a time it might go better. Any ideas would be nice. :D

Well first of all, make sure you introduce them somewhere other than your house or yard. make it be on neutral territory otherwise theres a chance it wont work out.

I would definately do it one at a time because your two might get the idea to gang up on the small one and be over confident and dominant. Be sure to have them both on leash obviously and I would get someone to help so you dont have any issues with fighting in the worst case.

Of course dont get involved with them at first because healousy could be a problem. Feeding them seperately is s must but you most likely already know that since you have multiple dogs already. You probably already know, also, to not leave them alone together for a while until youre sure theyre used to each other.

Im not sure what else to add to that, but youre an experienced dog owner so youll know basic things to be aware of and that I really didnt need to mention. Good luck with it though! I hope things work out!

Get someone to hold Scuffy on a lead and you hold one of your other dogs on another lead and let them sniff each other gently and get used to actual contact. Give both dogs physical contact but don't be overly exuberant with verbal praise as this tends to get dogs excited which can instigate dominance problems. After a while swap dogs with your other dog and just do gradual introductions. You sound like you're doing fine and looking forward to seeing pics of the trio
