xavierandrea Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Reminds me of my dog Asim. He always threw up. Mainly because we were over feeding him and his stomach is very sensitive to coldness so his water needed to be room temp. But I would double check with your vet just in case something is serious. Good Luck. Quote
Pumpkin the musher Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Also mention to your vet the possibility of pyloric spasms. What happens is that the muscles that keep the stomach closed to the small intestine spasm, and can cause the dog to throw up. A good indicator is that there can be throwing up even tho the dog has not eaten, so you sometimes get bile or foam. Just a thought. Quote
__crazy_canine__ Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 It could be possible allergies. I knew someone who had a Rottie who had to stay inside all the time because he was allergic to grass and would throw up and get really sick if he went outside too long. I would definately see your vet about it because it could be something small or could be big. Quote
imported_Cassie Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 It sounds to me as if your dog is rgurgitating his food. Vomiting is a forceful ejection of the stomach contents and regurgitation is the backflow of undigested food (which has never reached the stomach). Vomiting can be a symptom of stomach, intestinal, kidney, liver, and other diseases. Regurgitation is a symptom of megaesophagus or other esophageal disease. I would certainly follow DivineOblivion19's suggestion of switching foods. You may also want to add digestive enzymes to your pups food and perhaps some dandelion root which helps add in digestion...and perhaps some probiotics to replinish the good bacteria in the gut...or you can feed yogurt (organic with beneficial bacteria). I would also elavate the pups food dishes. With my dogs they use regurgitation every once in awhile as a digestive cleanser. They go on wild grass eating binges and then vomit, I also grow grass for them (barley grass & wheat grass) This process is normal canine behavior to binge on grass and then regurgitate. I would be very concerned about the pup, as it is not normal to throw up as much as your pup is. I would watch what is happening to lead up to the regurgitation. Has the pup been eating grass , did your pup get into garbage, as crazy canine mentioned it could be allergies, problem with the esophagus...the list goes on. Get the pup to a vet who can look your pup over, to me it would be well worth the money invested in tests to ensure my pup is healthy. Good luck with your pup. Quote
