__crazy_canine__ Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I decided to post weekly a list of pits from petfinder. I cant help but share such cute pitties, who just happen to be looking for homes! I want one so bad! This is Jesse, a female Pit Bull mix who is around a year old. I am about 1 year old. And my foster mom says I am the perfect dog. I'm a pit bull terrier who loves everyone, and I do mean LOVES everyone. I give big sloppy kisses. I also love all other dogs. Old dogs, young dogs, puppies, male or female, I get along with everyone. And the cats are nice, too. I don't even mind sharing the bed with them (though I would probably chase them if given the chance), I am a quick learner. I already knew "sit" and "down" when I came to my foster home. I could learn a lot more if someone would teach me. Adopt me, and I will be your very very best friend in the world! City Pet Rescue (CPR), Dallas TX --------------- Buck, a male 2 year old pit bull. Buck is 2 years old and is a very handsome fellow. He was abandoned at an area shelter at the end of 2002 when he was just a pup. He had open wounds and sores from suspected neglect or abuse. Buck has now healed and has a beautiful coat iis healthy. Buck is a very sweet and genlte guy who just loves attention from his humans. Buck needs to be the only pet....he gets a little excited when playing with other dogs and it sometimes ends up in a fight. Buck does not like cats! Buck would love to be an inside dog, although may need some help with housetraining, and also requires a tall secure fenced yard. He would make someone a wonderful companion in the right home. American Pit Bull Terrier Rescue - Louisiana, Baton Rouge LA --------------- Bosco, an adult male pit bull. (just look at that bully grin! ) Bosco's person went to jail for 6 months. Bosco's person thought his mom and stepdad would care for Bosco until he came home. HE WAS WRONG! They intended to surrender him to the animal shelter because they had two dogs and refused to care for another. They kept Bosco locked in a bedroom most of the time he was with them. Bosco is emotionally deprived and grieving. Bosco was loved by his person (we got lots of background information on Bosco and his first home). He is completely up to date on vetting and until his person went to jail, Bosco had a good life. Hearts of Gold offered to keep Bosco until his person gets back home but the parents said "no" he is going for good. He is a great dog. You will bond with him very easily. My heart went out to Bosco and we had to rescue him. He didn't do anything wrong. He just got caught up in "someone else's mistake." What a bummer!! Would you like to take Bosco home with you to give it a try? If it doesn't work, we will always take him back. If you are interested in Bosco, please give Donna a call at (901) 491-2818. Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue, Memphis TN --------------- Im Snoopy, an adult female pit bull terrier. I was running down the street one day-very confused and scared because I didn't know where I was. I was really dirty & thirsty & hungry. And then this lady let me into her backyard. She gave me fresh water-I really liked that. She gave me good food & a warm bed-I really liked that too. She gave me a bath. I didn't like that. I love people and I love attention, and I'm also very good at taking care of myself. I enjoy laying in the sun and barking at bees. I love going on walks. Life is good. Oh, by the way, my foster mom also calls me POOPSIE!!! Good with Cats: Unknown Good with Animals: In Training Good with Children: Unknown Special Needs: Responsible Discipline Please contact my foster mom directly at mrich1118@aol.com if you would like to give me a loving, forever home. Rescue Me Pet Foundation, Los Angeles CA --------------- Hello, Im Conan a 7 month old male pit bull. Conan is a sweet tan and white terrier. I am ultra sweet and looking to bring some love to your life. I'll be at Union Square on Saturdays, so come on down and get some licks! Mighty Mutts, Brooklyn NY --------------- Marbles, adult male pit. Marbles is an extremely social and energetic dog. He jumps on people when he greets them and tends to pull on leash. Obedience training would benefit him greatly. Marbles loves to play with tennis balls and will carry one around in his mouth as long as you let him. He will give the ball up very easily. He plays well with other dogs, taking him to a dog park would be wonderful for him. ASPCA New York City, NY --------------- Well thats it for now. Ill post more again in a week or so. Arent they just so cute! I tried to post from all around the US. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 They are all gorgeous. But rescues make it sooooooo hard to adopt a pit bull. They wont adopt to you if you have more than one dog usually, even if you have pit bull experience  They dont do same sex adoptions usually, making it very difficult for people to adopt, because most people have more than one dog. They want pittys to find homes, but they make it impossible for people with great homes to adopt  Quote
gjones2 Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 OH MY GOSH I WANT TO ADOPT ONE SOOOO BAD!! Unfortunately, I live in an apartment and already have a pit mix, but I am DYING to get another dog. (It would have to be a female!) Jessie is sooo cute!! Quote
__crazy_canine__ Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 Yeah, they do make it sifficult for people with dogs already to adopt but theyre just looking out for whats best for the pitty. When I do get settled and gets my dog(s) Ill be so upset because I want lots of dogs but if I get a pit I know I wont be able to... Jesse is cute isnt she? Shes in my city but I cant have her. Sorry DL, youll get yours soon though! :D Quote
nasek718 Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Here's what these adoption places do not tell you about the Bully's. If you already have a dog you can adopt as long as your interest is in the opposite sex. I have a male who is only aggressive toward male dogs. With the exception of my aunts pug which he paid no attention (Maybe because he was fixed) So if you want one and can find a group who is not hung up on the you already have a dog thing than it's possible. These people have the best interest of the dog at hand but even in organized (oxymoron) fights (which I would not ever condone) the dogs faced up are same sex. As a matter of fact if you are interested in a Pit and live anywhere near Omaha, Nebraska.......my in-laws have a rescue and are always looking for good homes. Just click on my profile and e-mail me or im me or post here and I'll get you in touch w/ them. Quote

AllAmericanPUP napisał(a): They dont do same sex adoptions usually See? My and AllAmericanPUP's point was that if you have more than one other dog, its hard to get a bully. Sorry but Im no where near NE, and theres plenty of pitties around here to adopt! :) Quote
