Mutt_Lady Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I was just thinking and me and Kevin call Kyra a lot of other animal names. LOL I call her "piggly wiggly" or "pig" and Kevin calls her a hog and a bear. I was wondering if anyone else out there calls their dog a name of another animal. Hopefully we're not the only weirdos. Mind you, K also has nicknames that involve fruits, vegetables, and desserts. Yesterday Kevin called K a "dumpling" and we both erupted into giggles. Quote
Julie2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 A lot of us pit bull people call our dogs "pig bulls" for their tendency to want to eat anything and everything. Especially when the humans are trying to eat in peace. Quote
Sarahstaff Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 One of Tully's nicknames, for quite a long time, has been "Weasel". In fact, someone thought it was her name once, as I kept calling her that. (they complimented me on it... I had to admit it was just a nickname). I often refer to the dogs collectively as the weasels. Or, you weasels, when they've been particularly destructive! Quote
Lucky Chaos Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I call my dogs piggies all the time. Or sharks at a feeding frenzy at dinner time. And Lucky's my big bumbling black bear. Quote
Yoladybug Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I call my dog Bear...I don't have any idea why...she doesn't look like a bear. It just happened one day and stuck. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Always though the best name for a dog was "Cat" 8) Quote
EmmeAndCharley Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 If I think my dogs are ignoring me when I'm calling them to "come," I will say, "Here Kitty, kitty, kitty!" hahahahah! They give me a look like, "What the???" Otherwise, I call Charley "Boo-na-boos" and Emme "Nooney!" Quote
Carolk9s Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 All of mine have been called silly gooses or goosie goose. I've called Brittany 'my little pony' because of her high steppin trot. Jesse always got excited when I called him 'Jesse the wolfdog'. They've all been called piggy wiggys from time to time, usually when treats are being dispensed! Quote
Queen Bitch Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Our first Dal boy, Simon, was called moose a lot, or variations on the moose name. Quote

Smooshie Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Hmmmm...Loki is "loki-Bear"......."Ox"......"BigPig"....among various other silly names like "LokiDoki", "smooshie bear", "BigDumbDawg", "Donut" (because he literally folds himself in half when he wags his stub)....and the list goes on Lyra hasn't been around long enough to pick up too many nics yet.....so far she gets "Leera-Deera", "babygirl","Punkin-Pie" and "Miss Lyra" My Macaw, "India" gets called "buzzsaw", "Indy", "Miss Wings". and (during her daily screaming fits) various expletives that I can't mention for fear K will ban me out of pure shock   Quote
MajiesMom Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Oh I call my dog everything. She gets "pumpkin," "peanut," "sweet pea," "silly monkey," "hen," "pet," and "sugar." Carolk9s Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Oh I have to mention this, one day at an agility trial, I had just Jesse and Brittany then, I raised a few eyebrows. I was going to take them out of the xpen for a walk and said, 'C'mon you mangy mutts', of course I said it with love but geez, I think I put two women in shock! It came from a running joke that I had with a friend of my sisters, she would always ask how the mangy mutts were doing and I would ask her about her poor, pathetic excuse of a dog. Of course we were just teasing each other. Quote
