. . . He CAN'T

Barely keeps his head above water, makes almost no progress. He fell out of the canoe once last year and seemed to do better making it to shore but still no great shakes. Oh well, I just put foam in his pack next time.

Wow, I thought all dogs could instinctively swim! Poor thing!

Are you going on trail soon!? I'm so jealous if you are. I don't think I'm going to be able to get out this summer. :(

All of them can instinctively swim--but some of them (like my piglet) do it as if their life depended on getting out of the water :lol: I think that if they're afraid of being in the water, the fear must overcome whatever instincts they have... who knows?

Guess that's why Kavik swam better when he fell out of the canoe - he was swimming to shore.

Kendalyn - The earliest I'm going to be getting out, except for day trips, will likely be mid June. It is essential for my sanity.
