first of all, let me say I do NOT condone aggression in dogs (as most of you may know), and ANY back talk from Coal is corrected, because I REFUSE to go through that again :o

But, last night Jared came over to watch a movie. The PS2 was being a gimp, so I had to go grab the DVD player from down stairs. Jared and i always play really rough, and he playfully pushed me when we were goin down the hall, unfortantly in front of Coal :o He came bareling over when he saw this and stood between Jared and I barking his fool head off!! :o of course I couldn't help but laugh cuz Jared was scared sh*tless! I knew Coal wouldn't do anything, he does this when Dad and i play rough too, he just likes to get in there too  But poor Jared thought he was guna eat him! So I called Coal off, told him that's enough and he came trotting over beside me, but kept a good eye on Jared. I went to go downstairs and Coal wouldn't leave him alone! I had to bring him with me before he would! I think it's deffently time he start hanging out with Jared and I more to get use to how we act around eachother, and learn that Jared is NOT going to hurt his mommy  Usually he gets put outside or in a different room  because he's SOOO irritating! All he wants to do is play with Jared! So from now on Coal stays with us when Jared's over, so he can get use to it and know what is acceptable and what's not around him

It's cool when they act like 'real' dogs isn't it?

Ruby growled when my friend Brian entered my office one day. I didn't hear him and she was growling all of a sudden, I was SOOO proud!!!!

Yup. Yup. Zebra does this too. I play rough with my freinds and my brother, we are always hitting eachother. But when Zebra sees it he goes off and starts to bark his head off and always pushes in between me and who ever. But he also get mad if I hug anyone...he jumps up and takes the other persons arm in his mouth and tugs it away from me, but he takes them gently never hurting anyone. Such a funny dog.

Ohhh... my girl can be a beast from hell sometimes! She's extremely protective of me and the house, and will sound off at the slightest provocation. She's an extremely dominant bitch, which adds fuel to the fire. Most people are smart enough to NOT mess with a 79lb, 28" at the shoulder, heavily muscled, angry Doberman Pinscher!

It's funny though - once she's told it's okay, she's the biggest lovey dovey goofball in the world!

Shara, that means Coal has bonded to you. Best he bond to the boyfriend as well...
its a natural progression. They trust you, see you as a pack member, and so protect. best get the boyfriend under that wing..

UNLESS he is harmful. if he IS, get out. dogs know. I dont want to be a wet blanket on your relationship. I ALSO dont want you hurt. so just in case....trust the dog.

Thanks for the caring Court! :D Jared and I HAVE had a lot of problems, and he HAS gotten rough on me when mad once, but he never hit me or anything like that, and didn't intend to hurt me, and in his deffence, I DID push him first   But that's the only time, and he appologized when things blew over. He IS a good guy, Coal has just never really gotten to "hang out with him" much. Only when he was a tiny puppy really. I THINK he might be comming over tomorrow, we'll see, so if he is I'll bring Coal in with us to chill  I DO trust my dog though! Hazel HATED Bjorn, who turned out to be using me, and DID abuse me, while Hazel warmed right up to Jared and loved him a little too much :o Humped his leg one day LMFAO

Its somehow reassuring to see when your dog protects you :D Meggie was so jealous when I introduced her to saner and if we walked with his arm around me, she would wiggle her furry little butt in betweenus, or if we were messing about at Crufts in the guest house, she would do wee whiney noises and poune up on the bed and wuffle at Sander hehe. Its so cute!
