kendalyn Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Has anybody seen this movie? I watched it last night and there is the cutest little staffy bull (I think) in it! His name is Plunger and he is adorable :-) Everytime he came on I was like, "PLUNGER!" It's a good movie too so I suggest you guys rent it. Oh, I found some pictures. Here's Plunger: Quote
Malamum Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I just got back from the States and that movie was showing in the plane and the picture posted above was what was shown in the movie guide. Of course that made me want to watch it but I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open and I missed it :( He really looks like such a cutie (the dog - not Ray Romano - can't stand him) Quote
xavierandrea Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Malamum napisał(a): (the dog - not Ray Romano - can't stand him) Oh Malamum... I love Ray Romano..I can't get enough of his show.. Quote
gooeydog Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 The dog is an American Bulldog, don't remember what kennel he's from, but his real name is Gunner I think? Quote
DogPaddle Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 So is the dog in the picture above an American Bulldog? The pics of American Bulldogs I've seen seem to be heavier dogs. Good looking dog, I like it whatever it is. Quote
kendalyn Posted May 26, 2004 Author Posted May 26, 2004 Are you sure it's an American Bulldog? The Welcome to Mooseport dog is pretty small and compact. I always thought American Bulldogs were taller, lankier dogs. Plunger only came up to mid calf on Ray. I found this on another website about the movie: Two American Bulldogs named Gangster and Blitz played the part of Gunner. Here's one of the Cheaper By The Dozen dogs: Here's the Welcome To Mooseport dog: It's not a great picture but it's the only one I can find. I don't think they're the same dog though. I can't find any mention of Plunger on the credits online though. :-? BTW, I love Ray Romano! I never miss his show :-) Except this week I did :-( Quote
Guest Mutts4Me Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I think he's way too small to be an American Bulldog... The "Cheaper By the Dozen" dog is an AB, as is the "Homeward Bound" dog (Chance). I always thought American Bulldogs were taller, lankier dogs. The pics of American Bulldogs I've seen seem to be heavier dogs. American Bulldogs are so strange in that the two main variations are so completely different looking: Johnson variety: Scott variety: This is a good page with the different varieties. I was just going to post the different descriptions, but the highlight feature is disabled, so I can't copy anything: http://www.bulldoginformation.com/american-bulldog.html Quote
kendalyn Posted May 26, 2004 Author Posted May 26, 2004 Wow! Those dogs are the same breed!? Very interesting. I'm a little too tired to read the link right now, but tomorrow I'll try to get to it. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I think that's from "Cheaper by the Dozen" goo, someone posted on the other board? I think this is a different dog??? You're right  That's the movie I was thinking about, and they are different dogs. That's what I get for posting shortly after waking up, when my brain isn't quite engaged  Quote
kendalyn Posted May 26, 2004 Author Posted May 26, 2004 I like the Scot variety better myself. Me too :-) That's what I get for posting shortly after waking up, when my brain isn't quite engaged I'm not the best right after I wake up either! Quote
imported_Kat Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I would have to say he definitely looks like a Staffy BT as well. He looks to be too small and compact to be an American bulldog/Pitbull. Quote
