Crested Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 I just bought a clicker on wednesday and I've started to teach both Ben and Bella with it. The original idea was to try and see if I could get Ben more confident and not as scared of cars, bikes, people passing him on the street, dogs, cats, sneezing, hickups, koughing... well you get the idea. I'm still in the "teach what click means" and both Ben and Bella think it's really the best time they've ever had with anyone. First Ben was even scared of the clicker and I must say I'm glad that I took the multi-clicker with adjustable sound volume. If I click with full volume, he runs out of the room and hides under the bed. (and that's just one click) Bella couldn't care less even if I'd click with full volume a millimeter from her ear. She doesn't care if it's a big sound or a small sound as long as she gets her treat. Well anyway... When do you think I should start with the "sound exersices" (coughing, sneezing etc.) with Ben and how should I do it? And how can I teach him to pass other dogs nicely in the street without him getting scared? Quote
drjeffrock Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Hey Crested, I use a clicker (or my tongue to make that noise) for a couple different things, but not for the reasons you mentioned. Here is a great link to clicker information and articles: http://www.clickersolutions.com Quote
