Horsefeathers! Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 Do you still have the contact info of the lady who was in charge of Rocco's adoption? If not, I'll pass it along if you like. She's close to the GA/AL line and may know of something closer to you that isn't listed on PetFinder. She was also really good at coordinating Rocco's transport. He actually started out in Richmond, Virginia and ended up close to Florida (I'm only a few miles from the FL line). She was willing to meet me much closer to my home than we actually did if I'd needed to. Now, she does like to set up home visits and wants references. I really don't know if the fact that you breed (even though a rescue dog would be altered, I know) would be a deterrent. A lot of people involved in rescue get understandably frustrated about breeding. All you can do is ask. Let me know if you need the contact info. Quote

Our receptionist recently said that a Dobe wandered up to her house last week and that they'd been taking care of it until they could figure out where it belongs. I don't know anything about this dog, or if they ever found the owners, but I can ask tomorrow. I do know they had no interest in keeping it. If certain conditions were met, I could arrange transport. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow. I haven't heard her mention it lately. Quote

I haven't seen your website, but I don't venture off much from just the few boards I'm a member of and news articles because my computer is a dinosaur and on dial up at that, not to mention (but I will, anyway) the fact that my monitor is just about shot and I have to view it like this (>.<) . Anyway, just wanted to say that I wasn't being a smart*ss when I said that. :oops: I talked to our receptionist gal today and she said someone had already picked up the Doberman. Heck, not even my girl is breeding quality - she's FAR from it. I looked on your website - and didn't notice anything about health testing, titling, DNA certification... nothing. I don't want to start a fight... but do you do all this stuff? The world is full of pet dobes - there is no need for any more "pet" litters. Quote

I read that she didn't want to go through the headache of raising a puppy again, not a thing about not breeding anymore. What part of that says that she has stopped breeding? SRC as HF said, I don't know if many rescues would adopt to you because you are a BYB ( and your dogs are currently living in kennels outside) which is the reason that so many dogs end up in rescue in the first place. My opinions on this sort of breeding also known as BACKYARD BREEDING are known by most of you, i will say no more on that :lol: (today) But i do have one question from the other topic i would like to ask :-? as i is confused :lol: .I just didn't want to put the owner of the dog I picked out on display on my website. I searched around and found a lady with a brother sister pair from my vet. She had her dogs tested and I got documentation from her on it, as well as giving her a copy of mine. Her dog is black and mine is red...instead of us paying stud fee's we traded breeding each of our studs to each others female's. I wanted a mixed color litter this time..hopefully I get it, but I'm not sure since all of Morgan's were always red, and her mothers as well (her father was black). How did you get this information from the vet???????????????????????? I find that very very unethical to give out someones info and details. Dont you have data protection in your country? I am intrigued to know the answer to that one :o Quote

( After all SRC, you yourself have said that you don't enforce a spay neuter contract, like any RESPONSIBLE breeder would do. Who knows how many of "your" dogs have been bred. mnp13 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Well, regardless of you being a BYB or not, every rescue I have ever delt with makes you get the dog altered, if they even release it before the surgery. Also, why would you get another dog if you already have to keep your dogs in kennels in the back yard at someone else's house and one of the people in the house is 'deathly afraid' of your dogs???? It's also potentially very dangerous to kennel dogs together unsupervised. You could easily come home to two dead or seriously injured dogs. I personally know two people who have returned home to this nightmare (and neither of the dogs involved in etiehr incident were pit bulls) Michelle Quote

Since you obviously like to run behind my posts, you should have noticed that I offered HF some dober books on the 12th...and that I stated I was leaving for vacation that day...sorry but I couldn't answer you from 400 miles away..spending time with my BF was a little more important then checking forums to see if I needed to defend myself....again, for teh same thing, again. I think many of you people are rude and butt your noses in where they don't belong. Last time I checked, the dogs in my back yard were only in the "back yard kennels" because I'm having to stay at my parents right now....they usually all stay in the house when we are at "My" house. Kinda hard to have 3 full grown dogs, a 8 yr old, and 3 adults (one of which is deathly afraid of my dogs), and 3 cats all in a 3 bedroom house together. Especially since one of my dogs will eat cats, and usually has to be seperated from the other two dogs because he rough houses a little too much and knocks stuff (including small children) over in the process, thanks for asking and clearing that up though. I decided after this breeding didn't take that it was just a good sign that I really didn't need to anymore. After I thought about it I just told the lady to forget it, and called it even. I've been at my moms for 6 months now, with no end in site and I don't want puppies born outside..plus with a BF 400 miles away I don't have time for puppies anymore, not to mention all the activities my son is in now..and as he gets older there will only be more to come..he loves sports. My vet told me about the lady, I gave him my name and number and had the vet contact her...he didn't just hand over her personal info...he only told me about her and her dogs. I think too many of you like to stir sh*t up. So what you don't like that I bred my dogs, it's really none of your business. I didn't ask what you thought of it, I didn't ask for your opinions...some of you just like to start trouble/controversy. Funny how people chime in though, when the person being flamed hasn't responded in 2 weeks. That's nice. And I really think it was disrespectful of you to call me a shelter stocker....seeing how I know exactly where ALL my puppies are, and NONE are in shelters. I think I stated it before, but I'll say it again...I have people sign a notorized contract stating they cannot let the animals run loose, be chained for long periods of time, or sell/give them away without giving me the option to retain custody first. And if you will also read I didn't "make" them get their pups fixed...but I offered them a discount if they did, I think there are 10 that aren't fixed, the rest took the discount. So again...you ASSumed things hillside....you really should try to stop that, it's very unbecoming attribute, especially in females. Think this was snide, I don't really care...you deserve it for always trying to stir the pot onmy table and talking to me in the way you do, I do not appreciate being talked down to..by you or anyone. And I can say with sertainty...I have not been one of your "hidden" browsers from May13th-May23rd. I do post on hidden, because I choose too, because of this very thing right here...when it started the first time..I was receiving dirty emails when I was "online" so I made myself hidden, I got tired of people complaining about things they knew nothing about, and trying to tell me what I was doing before they asked. Just like now. I know none of my pups have been bred, becasue the ones that aren't fixed aren't "pets" and the ones that are pets are fixed.
