Roxie stays at the vet

Yesterday Roxie started pooping all over the floor. She NEVER poops on the floor. Not even when she was really little. Well, so I think that's a little strange but clean it up and go on my way. Then she starts throwing up. Only she's not really throwing anything up because she didn't eat that morning. So I call the vet and they tell me to bring her in. She had to stay over last night. Man I hate when that happens. Seems so strange without one of the dogs in the house. I did get to pick her up today but she has to have prescription medicine and food. Plus they don't even know what's wrong. Or was wrong. Just made a big deal out of not letting her eat anything but this special food until Monday. I can tell she's still not feeling well. She's not as playful as she normally is. I'm worried but I don't think there's anything else I can do. Any suggestions? Is this normal in a puppy?

she may have gotten into something you're not aware of....puppies do that all the time. Does she seem really listless? or walking funny? I worry about dogs eating and drinking things they shouldnt, like antifreeze....

It could also be an intestinal parasite...like worms...did you give them a fecal sample by chance?

If she keeps doing it even with the special food, take in a fecal sample to the vet.

They did a fecal when she went in yesterday. They did feed her this morning and she kept it down. She gets fed dinner in just a little bit and hopefully that will be okay too. She's never alone where she could get into anything. Any time I'm not watching her, she's crated. All the doggies did have to be boarded this week though. Maybe she could have picked up something there? She's still playing a little, but after just a few minutes she lays back down again. That's unusual for her. Bentley went through something like this when he was a little puppy too. But he seemed to get over it a lot quicker. Maybe I'm just being a worry wart!

Oh if she was boarded, she may have picked up a form of stomach flu from some other dog. Just keep an eye on her and see how it goes....

good luck! poor pupster...I hate when they're sick like that. They dont understand...
