Guest Anonymous Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 I bought Ilsa a Chuckit Flying Squirrel today... WOW is all I can say. I've never seen her react so strongly to a toy before - I'm serious. Right now she is digging at the toy box to get at it. Maybe she can read, becasue we all know that Dobermans, as a breed, have waged a holy war on the squirrels... The toy approaches... And..... ATTTAAAAACCCCKKK! MY toy, you can't have it! Quote
imported_Debbie Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004    Neat toy, I've seen them in the Pet stores. I got my Lab/Rott Gretchen something called a "Hurl-A-Squirrel" It's a heavy rope in a circle with a stuffed squirrel image in the center. I just took pics, but unfortunately I have 35mm and have to wait for developing...... :( Quote
gooeydog Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 We have one of those, the dogs all love it  One word of warning though... don't let them sit down for even a few minutes for a chew, as they seem to aim for the "feet", and it only takes a bit of chewing to have a hole in it, which grows, then the thing that holds the rim inside falls off, leaving you with two little pieces of rubber piping sticking out that your dog will beeline for at every opportunity to pull out  They also like these "squirrel" toys: http://www.fritzsplace.com/tennis_tails.html (I've seen them in a couple smaller privately owned petstores, but not in petsmart or petco). SizzleDog Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Ohhh not to worry - due to her enthusiasm with this toy, it's being reserved for her motivator in Agility... a clean run (or any run, for that matter!) deserves some quality SQUIRREL time!! :D Quote
