Guest Anonymous Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Is there anyone else out there who owns this breed. Please let me know if your dog acts the same. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I don't know what happened to my original posting of Native American Indian dogs but for some reason it was erased. I'm not sure who did this so I'll just put my posting back up. I bought a Native American Indian dog from Terra Pine Kennels. The dog is now 16 months old. The breeder advertises his dogs as only shedding once a year (to good to be true) and of coarse they shed continuously. I could tell from the time I brought the dog home that he was not socialized at a young age. He was afraid of everything and everyone. After being very patient with the dog he finally became friends with our family. Still is very aloof and not very affectionate. After complaints to the breeder especially about shedding (this shedding is unlike any other dog I have ever owned) it was suggested that I make him an outside dog. I was very upset because that was not what I wanted. I wanted a loving housepet. Since I have bought this dog the kennels are now advertising that they are not completely housepets. When I bought him they were advertised as housepets and possibly apartment pets if exercised regularly. I do not beleive that this particular breeder is in the business for the LOVE of the breed. I beleive he is just in it to make money and they are very expensive dogs. So if you see this kennel advertising please do not make the mistake I did and purchase one of these puppies. He has also kept one of my dogs litter mates to breed in the future. He kept this dog because he said she was to shy and she sheds continuously. I don't get it. I feel he is an irresponsible breeder and should not be allowed to breed these beautiful dogs. So beware of Terra Pines Kennel. Is there anyone else out there who is having trouble with a puppy purchased from him? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 My puppy was with at least 4 other dogs during his upbringing, and hordes of people, i moved with him now he is alone, but he still see's alot of people, yet he cowers behind me or runs around sporatically when he meets new people. i don't want him to be a coward, is this just because he is only 4 months old or what? He did meet the neighbor dog yesterday and they played "tag" for a bit, chasing eachother around, he doesnt seem to be afraid to walk up to any dog. but hes not aggressive at all, doesnt bark or growl. Both his mom and dad are very protective dogs, are these just traits they pick up when they get older? Quote
