I have the dog disease, or as my freinds and family so lovingly put it "Dog Tourettes" . This is when you yell out random dog information at inappropriate times. When you always try to turn converstaions back to dogs. And the worst "Symptom"...when you see any dog and yell out the breed.

I have all thoes symptoms, but the last one is the worst out of all of them. For example- I was in the car w/ my best friend who was driving. It was night time and I suddenly yell out "It's a Golden retriever!!"....My freind slams on her breaks and goes "where?! Did I hit it?!"....I meekly said "No, it was back there in a fenced yard" Lets just say she was NOT happy that I yelled that out and scared her.

And I did this all day yesturday when I was out with my two best freinds. My one friend suggest that I start to "twitch" when I yell out breeds of dogs...since apparently I have "dog tourettes".

So does anyone else do this? Or am I the only crazy one? (please please let me not be the only insane person who does this!)

You aren't alone Ms Starfox. I do it too. Often. Though the other day Ryan had to point out a Dalmatian to me seeing as I was too busy notcing an Airedale that was barking and straining at the leash at a bunch of mini horses and Illamas that were in somebody's yard.

I have it too. I think almost everyone on the site is like that. I wish I lived by some of you being to have a conversation without someone looking at me weird when I start talking about dogs with dog terms would be nice. Its not my fault if Im obsessed right?

  oh yes, I have all the symptoms as well! And have for a very long time. I find now that if I don't "spout out" at least ONE "useless" (to the listener, while I find it FACINATING) dog fact in a day, I fear it will all build up inside and one day I will be sitting there and suddenly scream out "the crate is one of the best tools to housebreak a dog or puppy, the Saarrloos Wolfhound is the closest breed to the wolf, way back in the day people use to wipe their hands after a meal on the dogs, usually greyhounds, running around..." and so on and go on and on until all the info has emptied my brain and I fall into a heap on the floor while everyone stares in amazment at the millions of "useless" facts I know and WHY I just suddenly decided to share ALL of them with the world.

Now that ladies and gents, is why it is VERY important to spout out at LEAST one dog fact a day :)

guilty as charged...at work everyone is supposed to introduce a topic for trivia, mine is usually about dogs....I stumped them all on where Labs originated....and now I get email all the time asking dog questions....

My favorite one (that started a rant) was "I dont really like dogs but I want one for protection...what kind should I get?"

My response was "Get an ADT"....she asked what kind was that, and I replied "It's an electronic house burglary system...for you, much better than a dog...you dont have to do anything but turn it on..."

She's still not talking to me....

Yes, we have that disease, all the time at car we look at every dog at the street yelling the breed, and if it's a mix we guess it.

When somebody else gets in our car and we're talking about something else, me or my wife interrupt the conversation with a yell: "A POINTER!" i guess they swear never come with us in a car ride again

lol! i do that all the time! i don't yell the names out... but i let people know what type of dog it is. :D

from the first moment i knew i wanted a dog, i've been soaking up all the canine knowledge i could. so now people know they can ask me doggie questions and get an answer. or at least, where to look to get the answer. :D
