Guest Anonymous Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 So April 8th will be the 1 year mard that we adopted Cody!! where has the time gone?! lol seems like just yesterday we brought home that little polar bear at 11 weeks! SOOOOO today we made a suprise visit to Jean the lady we adopted himfrom! she was an hour away at a petsmart doing adoption day with her cats she has so we poped up it was so funny she didnt' even reconize him at first and kinda ignored him while talking to someone else about a cat, then Cody saw her and made a HUGE Howl ( if you havne't heard a DEAF AUSSIE yelp for attenion.. lol it's EAR PEIRCING ) she ,ooked over and her jaw dropped to the ground and yelled OH MY GOD CODY!!!! :) needless tosay we were there for 5 hours today and Cody was quite the ambassador for her rescue group, she was so proud of him, he showed off all his neat tricks, i said i was in the process of getting him ready for CGC and Therapy work. she was so happy to see him and cody was so glad to see her!! He did have some falling out's with dogs so i am back to square one ont hat road again he was screaming and yellping to play, then a few dogs he wanted to go after.. i think it must just be the petsmart attmosphere with dogs that are nervous use he normally does great with th em.. oh well we will head back up there next weekend as justin will be re enlisting in April and i dont think we'll be around muhc longer for him to visit jean.. i'll try to get soem pictures!!! oh get this.... i had some guy tell me that he ( cody) can hear a dog whistle,i said, um no sir he can't i've tired. his response" oh he's got selective deafness" :( what???? i was just in shock. then he said Cody can hear himself bark adn i said um no he can't and he got all mad so i went in to my whole speach ont he deaf dogs and handed him a pamphlet on deaf dogs and merle to merle breeding. some people. then i got another layd who was like i love your dogs markings, i said thanks' he's and aussie her: oh no he's not i have an aussie and she looks nothing like that Me: well mam' he's a dilute blue merle aussie, and jean here adopted him to me, she got him from the breeder Her: no i think your wrong Me: handed her pamphlets Her: walked away really... :roll: :roll: Quote

Now pay attentio to me!" :P I bet Jean was happy to know that Cody was doing so well. then he said Cody can hear himself bark adn i said um no he can't and he got all mad Don't you just LOVE it when strangers tell you that you don't know anything about YOUR dog! :x I'm a firm beliver that stupidity should hurt :wink: . My ex suffered from "selective hearing"...but only cuz he wanted to... My son inherited that trait too.... I wonder though, can he feel bass? most deaf people can,I wonder if dogs can too (bass, like the instrument, not the fish... :lol: ) Quote
