Queen Bitch Posted March 13, 2004 Posted March 13, 2004 If you didn't know already, the thing that looks like a b is an s set. So in other words pretty much a double "s". (unless my memory of high school german is off. :-? ) Quote

kendalyn Posted March 13, 2004 Posted March 13, 2004 google has a really nice translator. I've never used babelfish, but google's works very well. At least it did when I needed to e-mail someone in Germany. They replied and I understood pretty much everything they said. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 14, 2004 Posted March 14, 2004 Thanks! :D TDG - Yeah, I wanted the commands not just what their called because those are what I'm use to with my last dog, but I guess if it's in a diff language I'm not use to it anyway    [quote]table = "tisch" (pronounced: tish - to rhyme with fish) walk-it (i assume you mean dog walk? not sure tho, let me know the context please.) = "steg" or "laufsteg" (pronounced: (louf) shteag) Yes, that's the dog walk, I used the command "Walk-it" with my last dog. frame (A-frame?) = "A-wand" (pronounced: aah-vuhnd) Wow, totally not how I would have pronounced it   tire = "reifen" (pronounced: rye-fin) teeter = wippe (pronounced: vippay, sort of rhymes with triple) How's it ryhme with tripple? So... like... the i is pronounced ip, like zip, and not the I sound as in "I am"? That what you mean? weave = "slalom" (pronounced: slah-lum) push (not sure what you are looking for here, can you give me a context?) Push is the command I've used with my last dog for the Chute. (big) jump = "(grosse) h Quote
TDG Posted March 14, 2004 Posted March 14, 2004 yes, that's the dog walk, I used the command "Walk-it" with my last dog. it's kind of difficult to properly translate that in a short phrase - there is no proper, direct translation for it. personally i'd use "hier lang", meaning "this way", but i guess that's not really what you are looking for. you could go for "lauf" (meaning "walk", pronounced "louf"). How's it ryhme with tripple? So... like... the i is pronounced ip, like zip, and not the I sound as in "I am"? That what you mean? yep, exactly! :) push is "stoss" (shtoss) or "schubs" (shubbs), but stoss has more of a connotation of shove and schubs is more like poke. the translation "stack" is for the secondary meaning, as in "a stack of pancakes" (ein stoss pfannkuchen), but it has nothing to do with pushing...
