Crested Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I've been recently thinking of selling Ben's traveling box (that's what I call the big chunky plastic ones) and buying a crate instead (the cage type things). I'm worried that it's not that safe as it has got these little nobs that keep the top and bottom parts together. Nothing wrong there exept this "nobs" fall out when you take the top from the bottom, so I have to be very carefull when I wash it that the dogs don't eat the nobs as they fall. Ok, so you think just keep the two of them together. OK for me, but there's one more problem... The front cagelike metall door is painted. Ben has chewed on the door trying to get out while taking a car ride (not hurt himself yet) so the paint has started to chip off. Oh, and I nearly forgot... a couple of these nobs that keep the door in place have loosend so that the door might open if there would be a car crash or something like that. I have another one for Bella (Atlas) wich I think is very good and nothing like Ben's box. So... I've been thinking if I should sell the one Ben has and buy a crate instead. What do you think? The idea with the crate is that Ben hates the fact that he can't look around in the box. And in a crate, it shouldn't be a problem. Then while travelling, if the sun shines right on him or if it's too chilly, I put a blanket on top of the crate giving him some shade and warmth. (ofcourse he would have a blanket in the crate aswell) So, what do you think? I want your honist oppinion. Do you think it's a good idea or a bad idea? Do you think I should sell or not? Do you think I should buy a crate or another box? Do you think the one I have now is safe? Quote
atghylin Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Hey Crested! If you feel the box is unsafe for Ben then dispose of it. Don't sell it just get rid of it. From what you have said the box poses a saftey hazard for Ben. Chances are it's going to pose one for who ever you sell it to as well. Find a way to get rid of it safely if you can. I'd start by asking my vet then talking to the humane society. As for getting a crate. Go for it if you feel it will be safer and more appealing for Ben. :) Amanda[/quote] Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 yes if it's unsafe out it must go Quote
Crested Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 I guess you're right. Thanks! :D Or then... hmm... might keep that box at home just as a bedplace for Ben. (not that he uses it....) Better then throwing it away I guess... Quote
