Guest Anonymous Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004   I almost forgot to tell ya'll about this, too funny, can't think about it without bursting at the seems! Note: Coal is NOT allowed on the couch... The other night i come downstairs and into the living room, and there's dad on one couch, and i could see something on the other outa the corner of my eye and thought it was mum, I turn around and lo' and behold, it's COAL. All snuggled up on the couch, head on pillow and EVERYTHING. So I exclaim "DAD!" and he goes (not even glancing from the TV) "What?" and I'm like "What the hell is Coal doing???" and dad (once again not glancing from the TV) goes "I duno, what's he doing?" So I'm like "LOOK!!" Dad was more shocked then me at what he discovered slumbering on our nice white (ish) couch.   I guess what happend was Dad got up to put a coat of varnish on sump' in the shop and came back and sat down, and Coal thought he was so sneaky climbing on the couch when Dad "went to bed" I guess now I know why I always get dog hair in my mouth when I lay down on the couch :o I can just imagine, Coal was probably laying there slunked down as far as he could when Dad got back thinking "please don't see me, please dont' see me, please, Please, PLEASE don't see me!!"  Quote
abker17 Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Awww lol.   Abby does that a lot to, like puts her head on the pillow when she lays in my bed. It's really cute.  Quote
MajiesMom Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 hehehehehe :P :D What a monkey!!! We had the no couch rule too but it only lasted a week. (We did well with the no bed rule though - we gave in after a year!!!) Now we've gone through two couches with Magic! That's an average of one couch per year. The first one she chewed up when she was younger. The second one that we still have now, she stepped in paint when we were painting the hallway and then she went on the couch so there's paw prints on it and she put a few holes from her toenails through the covering and they keep getting bigger and bigger. The couch looks sooo ghetto! The next one is going to be another hand-me-down from my parents but it's only two years old, so like new and it's so nice and I don't know if I'll want Magic to use it. I guess I can keep the old one all for her, and keep the cover over it so it doesn't look so bad. I'll never have nice things with dogs. The rat is just as bad - he chewed my nice, expensive duet cover the day I put it on. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004   Yup, he's a goof alright... MajiesMom - Yup, so TRUE. "Ya just can't have nice things" The thing is, three of the dogs I've had have done the EXACT thing, sneak on the couch when we go to bed. I think we should stop putting thier beds (an old blanket) on the floor in the living room, because I think their just a BIT smarter then that   Quote
courtnek Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 do what I do...if you're not there to watch them (the only way to really break them of it) throw an old washable blanket on the couch before you leave. Leave it there unless you have company.. someone has a signature that says something like "there are two kinds of people, those that have nice houses, and those that have dogs...." goes with the territory...    Quote
Daisysmom Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Sneaky, sneaky :nono: My guys do the same type of thing, will just dissapear and you look around and somebody is on the good couch in the livingroom. I like to set an appearance that I don't have any dogs at all in the house, and that's not easy. I do a lot of cleaning :o Quote
Duke_3 Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 HAHA!!!! NO wonder theres dog AND cat hair on them blankets huh shara? Quote
Lucky Chaos Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 How cute! I can just picture him all hunkered down hoping you won't spot him. :D Our dogs aren't allowed on the main couch, but they have their own. Though one couch for 3 dogs and 3 cats can get pretty crowded and I know at least one of the dogs keeps going on the couch in the daytime, (the pillows are usually all over the floor and theres a dog shaped dent on the seat) though I've never caught them so haven't quite figured out who it is yet, between Chaos and Riley. Actually, we let him sleep on those on the floor a lot, or at least, I do   Steph - What makes you think it's not Lucky??? He too good to be bad?  Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Coal has got Dad wrapped around his paw :D :D :D :D Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004  I can just imagine it now, black Coal and white coach! Must be pretty insivible, eh? Coal is such a character (I agree!) you always have wonderful stories about him! :D Must be really fun with Coaly Moaly in the house! Rowie's not allowed in the pool, and she knows it. Once, my friend and I were swimming in it, when Rowie comes running towards us and tries to lick the pool water. "No," I say, "Rowie, go!" And she leaves (the pool is behind the house, and she leaves towards the front garden, using the right). My friend and I, not believing Rowie could ever be so smart, and knowing she would come back, guard the left side of the pool, thinking she would have gone a full circle around the house and back. Not so, after 15 minutes of waiting, my friend shreiks "Maurie, look!" and points to the pools steps (at the right side of the house). Sure enough, there is Rowie, laying down and enjoying the coolness of the pool!! Who would have thought dogs could be so clever? She knew we would look for her at the left, so she went using the right route, but just came back the same way! Another thing she did was (and I brag about it all the time) is open the faucet outside. It was her first day here, and the faucet (which we connected the hose to) was closed, Rowie was sniffing around and before we knew it, the faucet was open! Okay, she didn't know water would come out, and it could have been a coincidence (her accidently pushing it with her muzzle, maybe) but the look on her face as water came out was priceless!! Quote
