Guest Anonymous Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Okay, he's not aggressive in the least bit. He's actually just so excited to see the person and wants to play and do his wiggle bum and jump on people, that he gets out of control! I try to get him to sit when guests come to the house, but he's just all over the place and drags me across the floor :o This morning was the last straw, I figured I should ask you guys. The Flower person came here this morning and I ended up on the floor with Coal digging his claws into my feet and I ended up getting hurt just trying to hang on to him! And people who come to our door think that he's guna hurt them because Hazel was aggressive :-? He's not fully crate trained yet, and I'd hate to spoil it by him thinkin he's gettin thrown in there is bad... Plus, the crate is upstairs at the end of the hall in my sister's old room, and the door is at the bottom of the stairs. SO it would be a long battle draggin him up the stairs and down the hall and into the crate. he's also just a puppy still, well, he'll be a year old, in I THINK Feb. so he's just a big ball of energy. Umm... I think that's all the info, unless more is needed I will provide it. Thanks in advance for any sugestions!! :D Quote
midori115 Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Oscar has door issues too ... he's 9 months old and 50 pounds. i have no choice but to have his crate in the living room. when someone he doesn't know comes to the door, he goes in -- he's just too much. And he goes in willingly -- because 9 times out of 10 when I tell him to 'get in' and he does, he gets a treat. Therefore, he doesn't mind. When one of my dog friendly friends comes in, we work on manners. he only gets attention when sitting, and I snap his lead on to correct him when he jumps .... I'm also taking suggestions ..... my dad came down to visit last week and told me there was just no hope for the next 15 months. Quote
Daisysmom Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 I have a baby gate, well two actually. We use them to block the dogs out when we need to. My bigger problem is when WE come home and to the door and get attacked by three dogs....... Try a gate, and I guess try not to make a big fuss. That's what we are trying. Good luck! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Thanks for the replies... I'll ask my mom if I can get the crate downstairs in Anna's old room, because it's a lot closer to the door... Quote
