Guest Anonymous Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 Hello Dogo's! This is my first post, but ive been here before as C.Weim. I just lost my password. So here Caesar and I are again :) Well, over the last 3-4 weeks he has developed a series of bumps on his left shoulder and elbow. They are kind of flaky, and are obvious to the touch. If I comb him, or scratch him in that area, they can become bloody, like little scabs almost. If you look at them WITH the grain of the hair, they just look like bumps, but if you look at them against the grain they look almsot like scars, little white bumps. My aunt, who is also my vet told me over teh phone that it might be some sort of staff infection? And my breeder told me to try benedryl spray on it..... So im wonderin what the best thing to do is, or if anyone has had any experiences like this before. Im off to go engorge myself in turkey and stuff.... I hope everyone HAS A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING! Thanks for helping Caesar. ~Ray Quote
gooeydog Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 Allergies? My dog gets these on occasion, and I have the same issue with brushing... had to switch to a rubber mat type brush. Could be something in his food, his shampoo, or outside, practically anything. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 jeez, so many possibilites! Hmm, perhaps ill switch shampoos first. I hope they go away soon, or ill have to go the medicinal route.... Thanks for the help gooey Quote
StarFox Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Just a little side note about the Benydril Spray...IT BURNS!. If there is an open wound or scratch and it gets into it, it hurts like you would not believe! Once I used it on Zebra and it just made him itch and made his skin red. I realy don't think I would recomend using it. Quote
