Aonir Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Can anyone tell me everything to watch out for in dog food? Like I know all corn and by-products is bad.. That's about all i know.! Is Beef (not Beef Meal) or Liver ok? Is Soybean and stuff ok? What about Salt? Can someone please answer this for me. Quote
DogPaddle Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 I would avoid salt, suger, sucrose, glucose, fructose, corn syrup, unidentified sources or ingredients, ingredient splitting to make the food look better (ie first ingredient is chicken but next two ingredients are rice and brown rice meaning there is likely more rice than chicken.) I personally avoid soy because I'm not sure it is a utilizable protien for dogs. Beef is excellent though, liver is supposed to be excellent in moderation. I'm sure others will add to the list. Quote
TDG Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 this page has a nice list of what to look for and what to avoid: http://home.comcast.net/~Mordanna/dog/identify.html Quote
