courtnek Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 a young child got seperated from his dad while hunting..no one could find him...he was stuck on the mountainside all night... he was found the next day..2 elk had bedded down beside him, next to him, and kept him warm all night. They were huntng elk... yet the elk had decided to save this child.... they slept next to him all night, kept him warm, and protected him.. he was rescued the next day... It;s a miracle,,,we need to be sure we appreciate all the animals in our lives..... Quote
nadooshkinz Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Yeah we should! Sometimes we take animals for granted  But quite a nice story there :D Quote

imported_Kat Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 It truly is amazing. Animals are so misunderstood really even by those who think they know about a species. Quote
Malamum Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 That is amazing. I wonder if that family will change their minds about hunting from now on. Quote
courtnek Posted November 18, 2003 Author Posted November 18, 2003 I forgot to add that part - I was just so amazed... The dad said they do not need to hunt to live, although they eat the elk, he isnt going to hunt them anymore. He feels he "owes them"... I dont have anything against hunting, providing you arent just doing it for sport. If you are eating the animal, then so be it. Sport hunting and trophy hunting pisses me off, but if you intend to eat the animal, and use the hide for something I'm ok with it. But in that situation, I dont think I could ever shoot an elk again either...even for food..... Quote
