nadooshkinz Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 I was going to suggest that you go to the vet to see what he/she tells you too, but K beat me to it! No but seriously.. or a second alternative could be to go to your local pet store and ask the salesperson for their opinion, but getting a proper medicine would probably require a Vet's prescription... Quote
imported_Kat Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Is the puppy vaccinated? A trip to the vet sounds in order, you can't take chances with young pups. Quote
imported_Kat Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Exactly K, any gastrintestinal worms are bad news especially for young puppies and a cough is characteristic as in the parasite lifecycle the juveniles migrate to the trachea and are coughed up and swallowed. Some breeders don't bother worming their bitch when she is pregnant therefore the worms are passed to the pups. Quote
courtnek Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 so can Blastomycosis, if you live in an area where there are lots of rivers, ponds and lakes. It killed Alex.... PLEASE take your pup to the vet..... and let us know what happens. Quote
kendalyn Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 I really wouldn't give a dog cough medicine meant for people. Take him to the vet! Quote
Peng1zrule Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 do not give her human cough medicine, especially anything made to releive pain! take her to the vet, he'll give you doggy medicine. (gypsy LIKED Her sore throat meds) Quote
