SO ticked off!

OK, this isn't technically dog-related...but it is rescue related.

I went to my group's pet adoption today and met the MOST beautiful Siamese kitty you ever saw...a gorgeous seal point, and as sweet a kitty as I've ever met. BUT he was nothing but skin and bones, and one of his ears was all crumpled.

Apparently, his owner had died, and the family members who inherited the house just put that poor cat -- who is 5 to 7 years old and had always been indoors with his owner -- outside. It doesn't appear that they fed him or gave him medical treatment, because he had a hematoma on his ear, which is why it's now malformed. The house was sold, the kitty was left there, and the new owners took him to animal control. That's where we got him.

WHO could be so cruel? I am fortunate that my husband and my parents and my in-laws would NEVER in a million years turn my pets out onto the street if I died. But apparently there are people out there who think it's OK to do that to a dead relative's pet. It just breaks my heart.

But there was some good news...a lady had seen him earlier in the day and kept thinking about it and came home to adopt him. I am hoping Solis (that's the Siamese kitty's name) gets along well with her kitties and her dog!

that is horrible!! i hope the lady decides to get the poor kitty.. how mean.. just makes me so upset and want to cry. i wish i could save them all

I wish I could take the kitty home with me :cry: I have something for injured and abused animals.. I dunno, but I like them better than healthy ones. I'm weird, aren't I? :-?

Aonir, the lady did take him home :) It's on a trial basis, but he is a very sweet cat and seems to get along well with other animals, so I am praying it works out!

Anyways, those selfless people really have ice instead of blood running through their veins! I'm just thankful for people like you Sanvean :wink:

No, I don't think u're wierd. I'm pretty much the same way. For some reason I love older dogs, actually more than puppies. :oops: I know I'm crazy, but we all knew that anyway............ :wink:

We're big suckers for sick fur kids, in fact the other day we brought home a foster ferret, that we've decided to keep, and add to our little family.

Billy is a tiny Albino boy, missing an ear & he's blind in one eye :( But he's a happy boy. :D

that's why I adopted Laurel, with her sad eyes, and her timidness, no one else would take her...they had been trying to adopt her out for a long time...she's not extra pretty, or perfect...but I love her.

I used to see an old man and his old dog out walking every day, I often spoke to him and he adored that dog. :iloveyou: I hadn't seen him for a while and enquired with his neighbours about him. His family had put him into a home, he died shortly after. :cry: They didn't want the dog and took it to the local shelter. :evil: That poor dog musn't of known what had hit it, :cry: they were devoted to each other and the dog couldn't of had long itself, he was very old. :cry:

Thank god the kitty found a new home. :D
