I don't know what to say...I'm so upset that they put down this dog. I don't understand how it could have made a 180 degree turn around from being a freindly dog to being some vicious dog.

When animal control came to take away the stray that i found (he actually found me), they put the control stick on him and he growled and bit at it and was not a happy dog. But just mins before the dog was rolling on his back wanting me to pet him. I have never seen a dog that liked having something like that put around there neck.

There's another update on the Pit Bull Pets board (link in one of my other posts), along with a letter from the person who eval'ed him. It seems (and this is just my take on what I read, I may have been misunderstanding, who knows) that the person who put his description up on petfinder wasn't actually a shelter employee, just listed animals hoping to get them out, without actually knowing anything about them. Anyway, according to the letter, the dog was growling at people from inside the kennel, and they couldn't get into the kennel with him. They had to bring him out on the pole to cut the chain (the one on him in the petfinder pics) off him, and that's when he was freaking out. The person who was going to adopt him does not want to take a chance on a dog that seems unstable and aggressive (can't say I blame her), so there is no longer a home lined up for him, and no rescuer is going to pull a likely unstable dog with nowhere to go when there are so many stable dogs already lined up to die.

I think the fault needs to be placed on the woman who put up the description, as she wasted a LOT of peoples' time, possibly costing the lives of other dogs who could have been saved during the time spent trying to save Killer. Of course, I also wonder about the shelter, which apparently did nothing to stop the woman from listing the dog with false information on petfinder, and which refused to tell people inquiring about the dog ANYTHING as to his temperament.

OK not to add oil to the fire but I read the letter from Tia and I can understand she is upset..here we are seemingly questioning her evaluation of this dog becuse we have been blinded by our hearts and our "biased" view of him based on what some volunteer wrote about him in the first place...quite obviously the volunteer was mistaken about this dog and I accept Tias judgement that he was not to be placed with other dogs and was not suitable for adoption..here is a case of what is best for the dog not what is best for us or what we want...the dogs needs come first..and Killer needed to be set free...set free from his mental bondage and the chains he had to live in because of it...he was unstable and no dog should live like that...and sadly as we al know there is always another deserving dog out there...lets chalk this one up as "experience" and move on to our next challenge...in loving memory of Killer we carry on...who's with me?.....K.

I am K!

Poor Killer, RIP sweet baby!
