I am glad I am a dog person and understand...but, I had to laugh thinking how it would sound to some one else. I was looking after my friend Nancy's kennel she breeds Newfoundland dogs...one of her friends calls up and asks me when nancy will be home. I advised her she would be in later...well her friend Beth goes on to say..."I need Nancy's help! my husband and I are having a hard time breeding and we need her help as soon as she gets in!" well, the mental images going through my mind were not good and I started to laugh...Beth did not find it amusing....she was trying to breed her young bitch with an unexperienced male....and she was at wits end. I find breeders to be so funny....I sit back and laugh at them often...I also have this image of them if they applied the same techniques to their children...can you imagine...a conversation with their daughter...well mindy, your 16 now...time for you to be bred...we'll be sending you away to a friends house where they have a nice stud for you...if your baby is healthy and has a good indication of having good conformation...we may even keep the baby! Another thing I almost fell on the ground laughing over was one day I was helping my friend Nancy do an Artificial Insemination while she was doing this she also collected some semen from the male and put it in a vial to get a sperm count done at her Vet's office...she tucks the vial of sperm into her bra between her breasts to keep it warm...I advised her if she gets pulled over by the police to just tell them....hurry! my sperm is getting cold!
