StarFox Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 WooHoo! Great news! We get to bring him home a day early! We can pick him up tomarrow (sunday) at 12. :P My mom and I visited him today and he is kept in a special area where only "hip" dogs go. When we saw him he started to wag his tail so much and had a beautiful doggie "smile" on his face. I burst out crying right then and there I was so happy to see him. There are 3 kennels in a row, he was in the middle, to his left was a yellow lab named 'Levi' who was very freindly and was happy to see anyone  . I pet her on the nose threw the cage and she was so happy! I think she wanted to see her parents. Then to Zebra's right was a very nasty dog. It was a lab/chow mix and it barked and barked at us then in lunged at us and growed at us threw the cage. All over his cage were stickers that said "WILL BITE". But I suppose if I just had a major surgery done I would wanna bite someone too! Ok...Now zebra! He was soo happy and licked me all over the face. He had one of thoes Cones on to keep him from bitting his leg. And I think he is embarrased that he is shaved. His right leg is shaved except for his foot! :o He kinda looks like Crested's Ben! He had an IV in was in some pain/discomfort but he was on meds. Now the realy funny thing was when we looked at his chart that was hanging on the cage there was a note highlited in yellow real big "WILL BOLT"...  I guess he tried to run out of the kennel when they open it up! Oh that's my silly little dog, he gets a hip surgery done and wants to run all over the place! But more than anything I want to thank you all so much for keeping Zebra in your thoughts and prayers, He came threw his surgery so well because you all thought about him. Thank you all so much. :P Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 SOOOOOO!!!!! It's sunday!!!! ho'w Zebra doing??? doog to be home?? huh huh huh ??? UPDATE US PLEASE!!!! Quote
StarFox Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 He's home, He's home! :P We brought him home today! He's now in a crate in my room. He is doing good, he is excited and hyper and wants to run all over the place. But he has to be in his crate for 30 days! And only out for pee/poo walks then right back into his crate. Uh..he hates his crate..he never wants to go back into it and I have to bribe him with food.. He has a decent appitite but isn't playing with any of his toys. He keeps hitting his cone on everything and nearly nocked over his water dish. He already went wee in his crate today :x So now I have to re-wash everything! We have to give him Deramaxx once a day for pain. And an antibiotic twice a day. They also gave us some pills for sedation, just in case he gets real active in his cage....which he already tried to do today but umm...humping his pillow.  But he is home now and we have a follow up/ physical therapy app. on saturday. But that's it! He is doing as good as can be! :P Quote
Malamum Posted November 11, 2003 Posted November 11, 2003 Great news!! Now you just have to try and keep him calm and content in his create. Sending you lots of positive thoughts for the upcoming weeks and as usual keep letting us know how he is. And no - we won't get sick of hearing about it, we are all concerned and like to know that Zebra is A-OK :D Quote
