Hi folks, I'm getting close to finalising my planning for my project which takes place on Saturday week (15th November) and on the last thing now. I am doing a questionnaire to assess owners perception of their dogs rank in a multi-dog household.

Bearing in mind that these people are just dog owners and a lot won't know the intricacies of dominance and submission, what sort of questions do you think would be comprehensible to owners?

Cheers! :Dog_run:

I have a friend who has 6 dogs... 4 of which are always in the house. They have an 11 year old dalmation and she is the alpha. She gets the recliner whenever she wants it, doesnt allow the others by their food bowls until she has finished hers, has to be the first one out the door, and she checks out any new toys first. They had no clue what I meant when I told them she was the alpha. After pointing out just these few things I have noticed her do they have noticed several other things she does to claim her throne.

When Buck was with his sisters, he was definately low man on the totem pole. There was this one toy in particular that the alpha dog (Tucker) would not let Buck have, even if Tucker wasn't playing with it at the time. The second Buck picked it up, Tucker would come over and take it away! Buck didn't really seem to mind. He was used to it I guess. Bossed around by both the girls! Poor guy
