Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 What's wrong with these people? The dogs seem ok. Quote
Aonir Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 It's a Puppy-Mill. When a breeder has that many dogs, they can't provide proper care for all of them. They usually have behavior problems, aren't socialized and may not come with shots. The dogs MAY seem ok, but they don't show you the conditions they are kept in. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 They also breed and sell WHITE Dobermans. Man these people are soooooooo clueless. :-? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Sorry to get a bit OT, but there's a white dobie that goes to the training place we take Haley and Annie (actually it came to a tracking class on day), the first one I've ever seen in person. They are some STRANGE looking dogs, especially when you compare them to a "normal" colored one :-? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 guest, You mean the dobie, or the dogs at that website? I didn't go up to the dobie because I had a dog with me, but he seemed pretty stable. The owner also had some pics on a digicam of him doing agitation work, so I would guess that he's sound (at least mentally, don't know about physically) and has at least "ok" working ability. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Arg, I won't even get into about these people. last time I saw their site I started crying, their dogs most look so sickley, and they discriptions of them are disgraceful!   :drinking: Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 ARG! why the 'ell is Dogo so screwy 2nite?! Quote
StarFox Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Quoted from the BBB- "Based on BBB files this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaints concerning selling, product quality and customer service issues. Consumer complaints indicate misrepresentations in advertising practices, some pets had health conditions not disclosed at the time of the purchase and unsatisfactory customer service. " Well then why don't the do something about it? Like close them down?! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 I dont know why they are still open either! After BBB's report. I think I am going to write a letter. I urge everyone to take a moment a write one as well! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 (I can't log in... well I can, but can't STAY logged in... but it seems a lot of you are having that problem... anyway...) I know of a lady on my Papillon newsgroup that bought a papillon puppy from Wizard of Claws. The puppy came to her at 8 weeks old. (WAY too early for a pap to leave mom.) It had kennel cough, sarcoptic mange, and infested with fleas. The puppy is now around 7 months old (I think?). Looks NOTHING like a mature papillon, has a horrible temperment, horrible conformation and has patella problems already. She's attempted to contact these people numerous times and nothing ever came of it. Just now, I went to their site and looked at their "papillons" and other dogs. It sickens me. They look frighted and dirty and not at all to standard. I hate how they are posed in strange scenery and labled "TINIEST WE HAVE!" ugh. How sad. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 I can't seem to stay logged in, either! WOC's puppies all look sickly and terrified. Their Maltese puppies look NOTHING like well-bred Maltese, and the prices they charge for the poor things are outrageous. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 If anyone has purchased a woc puppy and has had problems, please lease an email contact on the forum. There are many others. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I am so glad you guys are talking about this. They should be shut down and I cannot believe that anyone could treat animals like this.I have a 3 month old Yorkie and I am looking to get a friend for her and I came across this site and I almost want to buy all of them so they can have a good, loving home. The ONLY thing these people care about is money, NOT THE DOGS. Breaks my heart :( Quote
kendalyn Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 This doesn't look right. And they're selling him for $1500! Quote
bk_blue Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 That makes me want to simultaneously cry and hit someone. Quote
KookieSista18 Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 It breaks my heart to see these poor animals treated so badly,I want o just cry  . But it alo makes me determined to tell every person I can about the terrible puppy millers. My mother gets annoyed because just about every body I meet get the 'puppy mill' lecture. But I think if there is one less ignorant person (ignorant about puppy mills) it's going to be harder for these monsters to sell the poor puppies for mega $$$ to unsespecting buyers. These people have to be shut down, and people have to know to NEVER,EVER buy puppies from places like these!I know, myself included, people want to rescue the poor little babies, but doing this is just feuling the fire. Quote
Yoladybug Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I got my dog at the local shelter, so I have no idea how much pure bred dogs cost, but $1500 seems like way too much for a puppy. Is this typical, or are they just making a killing? Poor puppies  Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 I recently bought a puppy from these people. She WAS a pom-chi mix. She was the most adorable baby I had ever seen! I paid $1820 to get her to my house. THAT is alot of money. She came to me with a cough and watery eyes. She just kept going down hill even though she was under vet care from the very next day after I got her. In contacting WOC, they told me I was starving her to death and if I didn't remove her from the vet hospital and do exactly as they told me, they wouldn't guarantee her. Whatever the h*ll that means. So I did what they told me which was to cram chicken and rice babyfood down her throat every 4 hours around the clock for 48 hours. She just got even more sick. So, after loving this tiny thing for 21/2 weeks I find out she has distemper and she wasn't going to recover. It attacked her brain and she started having seizures. I did everything possible to save this tiny (1 pound) 11 week old baby. Including having a tube put through her neck into her throat so we could get food into her. No go. I had to euthanize her. This was so hard to do. My vets office was wonderful and let me hold her while she died. I feel like I lost a child. The store is VERY sorry and they haven't seen a case of distemper in 8 years. They will send me a new puppy but they won't refund my money. So, I am reading all about this company knowing that they are sending me another pup next week and I am scared to death now about what will be wrong with it! I will NEVER buy another dog from a pet store or kennel! I have a very tiny little grave with a very tiny little headstone that my husband made that says Emmy. That's what I got for my $1820. That and the biggest broken heart you can imagine. So, if you ever run across someone who wants to buy one of those cute tiny puppies, please share this with them so they know EXACTLY what they are buying! Thanks for letting me vent...Tammy P.S. If I could figure out how, I would post a picture of my little doll. If you want to see her, email me and I will send you a picture...the one off their website. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 There's a lawsuit against them. Here's the press release. ChocolateAcres you should contact the lawyer. You most likely have a case against them. There are others that have had the same problems. One person's dog died from Parvo. Document everything. You may contact me privately at Anuraagii@hotmail.com if you like. Are you in Florida? There is also a statewide pet store demonstration scheduled for May 8th in Florida. I'll post that right after this message If you have purchased a dog from Wizard of Claws you may be interested in this: Media Release MARCY I. LAHART, ESQ Marcy I. LaHart, PA. 711 Talladega Street West Palm Beach, FL 33405 (561) 655-9537 milahart@bellsouth.net December 12, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PUPPY STORE SUED FOR MISLEADING CUSTOMERS, SELLING SICK PUPPIES (Pembroke Pines, FL) Two South Florida attorneys have filed a lawsuit on behalf of customers that bought puppies from Wizard of Claws Inc., alleging that the Pembroke Pines pet store defrauds customers by intentionally misrepresenting the origin of the puppies sold, and by selling puppies that suffer from a wide array of health problems, including contagious diseases and genetic disorders. Although Wizard of Claws has told customers that their puppies were imported from "reputable" breeders in South America, according to the complaint filed yesterday Broward County Circuit Court, in reality the puppies were obtained from large scale commercial breeding facilities in Missouri, commonly known as a "puppy mills", where animal welfare concerns are wholly secondary to profits.
