atghylin Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 I've always wanted to learn how to crochet. My mom does but never found the time to teach me. A last week the October issue of Parents magazine showed up and in it was instructions for crocheting. So I went out and bought some yarn and a hook. I rolled the yarn up into a ball to prevent knots and got to work. I've been working a blanket for the last few days and it seems to be going now that I have the hang of it. Okay, (now this was stupid), I set my work down on the couch so I can check the forum while the boys are taking their nap. Plus I needed a break, my fingers were killing me! :scream7: Remember when I said Felix thinks he's a cat... well he proved me right today. I look over at the couch and Felix has gotten a hold of my ball of yarn and dragging it around and through the livingroom furniture. :o Ooooooh! was he having a good time. The good news is that he only got the yarn... he didn't get the blanket part. But still... I should've known better then to do something so stupid. Amanda Quote
behle Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003  Naughty Felix......he's mommy's little helper isn't he? I can just imagine him rolling it around with glee!  Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 I cannot crochet because I am left handed I could not learn. I can knit when I put my mind to it. K a little Sindy blanket would not take long. Quote
courtnek Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 I can crochet and knit, and used to do it all the time - until I had dogs..... they steal the yarn (the cats do too) and any blanket or sweater I tried to make ended up as a dog bed because they would claim it as theirs as soon as I laid it down....     It's been so long I dont know if I even remember how anymore.... StarFox Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 I crochet scarves every now and then..anyways I was working on a realy nice red and black one and I left it on my bed while I went to go talk to my mom. Anyways when I came back I see a long string of yarn leading from my room to under the table where Zebra has the ball of yarn. :-? He unraveled half of my scarf and chewed up some yarn. I never left yarn on my bed again. Quote
Malamum Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 I'm not very crafty so can't crochet or knit  I cannot crochet because I am left handed Mouse - why does being left handed make a difference? I'm left handed too so am curious. Quote
Angelboddy Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003    Funny Felix. :D Kinda reminds me of what Dongwa did the other day. My son was getting ready for school and he set his socks down on the couch................And out of no-where Dongwa comes flying over the couch and leeps onto the socks and runs off with them! :o  My son was so shocked and upset.....he went running after him yelling,"Give me my socks back!!!!" I had to climb under the bed to get the dang socks away from Dongwa. Kitty's are so funny. Quote
