Ickle Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 A DOGS BEDTIME PRAYER Now I lay me down to sleep, the king sized bed is soft and deep. I sleep right in the centre groove, my human being can hardly move. I've trapped his/her legs, He's/She's tucked in tight, and here is where I pass the night. No one disturbs me or dares intrude, till morning comes and "I want food!" I sneak up slowly to begin, and nibble on my human's chin. For the morning's here, and it's time to play... I always seem to get my way. So thank you Lord for giving me, this human person that I see. The one who hugs, and holds me tight, and shares his/her bed with me at night. Ickle Quote
midori115 Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 that's wonderful! :D i absolutely adore it and i'm sure that's exactly what oscar is thinking .... although i would love to have a king -- ours is only a full and he's growing so fast .... :-? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 Awe! I love it! Although Coal sleeps downstairs, it's too hot on my bed... even though he sleeps there sometimes, and he'll jump on me to wake me up in the morning and like he did this morning, give me big wet kisses in my ear!! :-? Quote
courtnek Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 GREAT Ickle.... Laurel wont sleep on the bed, wont even get up on it and I dont normally allow it anyway. But when I'm watching TV, Freebee jumps up and stays there, altho out of my way. (sometimes she has to be maneuvered out of "my spot") But in the morning, when the alarm goes off, I reset it for 15 minutes of snooze time and fire up the curling iron....Freebee will jump up, curl herself around my legs, and then when the alarm goes off again I have to untangle my legs, my covers and the dog just to get out of bed.... So I can see the humor in that poem.... God...when Laurel gets more confident and jumps up, I may need a bulldozer just to get out of bed.....140 lbs of dogs is probably a little more than a insistent nudge can handle....    Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 That is such a cute prayer. My housedog does that. She takes up the entire bed and leaves me just enough room to sleep like I am in a coffin. I am constantly trying to push her but she ends up winning every night. Quote
Horsefeathers! Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Cute. On the bed when hubby and I are both there are a Lhasa, a Standard Poodle, a Toy Poodle and a Schnauzer. As soon as hubby leaves in the morning, the Lab joins. The more, the hairier. Though this poem was cute, I didn't see it address the ritualistic "who did that" face we make every night, trying to figure out who farted and who to kick off the bed. Other than that... :-? Quote

Peng1zrule Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 I loved that...I have a queen size bed and share it with four of mine, plus one of the cats...I used to be a "side sleeper" or a "stomach sleeper" now I'm a which-ever-way-I-can-fit sleeper. I sleep diagonally across the bed, face up, face down, on my side, bent around two or more dogs, you name it...I've slept that way! Quote
