Guest Anonymous Posted September 4, 2003 Posted September 4, 2003 Hello, I'm new here but I wanted to share something that I have been doing for about 9 months now. I make quilts for the dogs and cats at the rescues and shelters in my area. They are made mostly from donations of unwanted fabrics like knits, fabric scraps or old jeans, blankets, sheets and other washable materials. If you woud like to see some examples go to http://community.webtv.net/chopsgoodstuff/quilts To this point I have been able to supply about 300 such quilts for the animals to enjoy. One of the wonderful things about this project is that the animals don't care if the fabric isn't a pretty pattern or if my seams are perfectly straight, they just love to snuggle up to them. Many of the rescues sent the quilts home with the animal upon adoption, so they have something familiar with them when they start their new life. So, if you know someone who sews, let them know that quilts and blankets are needed by rescues and shelters and how they can help. If anyone has any fabric they would like to be put to good use, please contact me. Jill Quote
