I have a slight dilemma. :(
Well, Nostalgia is icthing like crazy, and I just know it's fleas.

I think she got them from the kitty. :(
Well, i was going to get frontline for her, but I spent my whole pay check on the kitty for his ear mites and shots. :-?

Nostalgia has a bunch of brown like splotches around the inside of her thighs. And some sores from scraching so much. :(

My friend is going to get her frontline tomarrow for me, because everything is closed today. :(

I just can't wait any longer, and we are about broke for money this week. :-? (Got rent to pay)

But anyways, I was wondering of what i can do to relieve her. :(

I am so upset, and I don't know what to do.
I sound like a bad owner. :(

Maybe if I can just put something on her for the fleas and the scraching sores.

Oh, my gosh!!!!! I feel terrible!!!!!!!!!!!! :x

Thanks K.

I am going to give her a nice warm bath in oatmeal again. :D
Hoping that will help a little.

Every step she takes, she will stop to itch. :(
I checked on her belly, but no fleas. (Thats where they liked to stay last time)

She is mostly itching around her neck and sides. :-?
And since she is black and she has that thick lab fur.........It's hard to see where the fleas are. :-?

Can you bathe her in a tub? Do you have any oatmeal? An oatmeal bath might soothe her skin. Sounds like poor Nostalgia has some allergies also. I hope you don't plan to breed her, allergies can be genetic also.
If no oatmeal, perhaps just a cool soak will soothe her skin.
If you do have oatmeal, I think the slow cook kind is best, put some in an old stocking or some cheesecloth and tie the top. Soak this in some hot water squeezing the stocking to mix the oatmeal slurry into the water. Run a lukewarm to cool bath and pour the oatmeal water into it. Sponge Nostalgia all over with this, no need to rinse as there is no soap in it. If she will lie in the water, you can also drown some fleas.

Thanks Carol.

She had a staf infection not to long ago. :(
The vet said it was probally from fleas or miquitos. :(

I just worry about her getting this staf infection again.

Could I give her some benadryl for the itching, even if it's not a staf infection?

The vet told me to give her Benadryl for the staf infection last time.

She is itching tell her skin on her belly is raw. :(

Oh, thank you so much Scotty.
Yes, her hair did turn a little red.

She also seems to not want to come out from under the bed. :(
I think she itches to much. :(

I am going to go do that oatmeal bath right now.

Sprinkle garlic powder over her food each day. I have never had any problems with fleas and it is all I use.

Bathe her in oatmeal, to subdue the itch, throw a little garlic in the tub
(she'll smell funny, but fleas hate garlic) and like suggested, keep her in the tub a long time. Let the suckers drown!!!!

they may try to climb up to get out of the water. Comb them off so they are still in the tub. Also, vacuum (as K said, Hoover) the whole house.
Under the bed, everywhere.....Advantage will kill whatever is left in the house once she is treated with it, but in the meantimes, HOOVER them
suckers up....

I didnt know this, but your dog can have fleas and NOT ITCH....
They have to have an allergic reaction to the fleas to itch. I found out both my dog AND my cat had them when I took them to the vet for shots!!

Neither were itching...Advantage took care of it. Frontline works well too, according to my vet,

Don't worry..Zebra has fleas bad too. He didn't have any all summer and then all of a sudden this past week it was like WHAM! Now He is itching like crazy! And just because Nostalgia has fleas dosn't make you a bad mommy...all dogs have had fleas at one time or another. But I agree with everyone elses solutions..a bath and a comb would work great untill you got her some flea meds. Good luck getting rid of thoes nasty little buggers! :P
